Movie veterans Andy Garcia and Jeff Bridges are plotting a duets album after both finding success as musicians.
Garcia has composed music for and performed on soundtracks to films The Lost City, Ocean's Twelve and The Disappearance of Garcia Lorca, and Bridges, who has released albums via his website, wowed movie fans with his musical skills as a grizzled country star in Crazy Heart.
And now Bridges is an Oscar winner for his role in the film, Garcia is keen to revisit the late-night sessions he had with his old pal when they both lived in Los Angeles.
He tells BlogTalkRadio.com, "It would be cool to make an album together some day. We certainly put in the time in the past grooming our late night jamming techniques." »
Duvall To Receive San Francisco Film Prize

Robert Duvall is to be honoured with the Peter J. Owens Award at the San Francisco International Film Festival for his "incomparable acting career".
The movie star will be feted with an onstage tribute at the Castro Theatre on 29 April.
The Owens Award, named for the longtime San Francisco benefactor of arts and charitable organisations and Film Society board member, honours an actor whose work exemplifies brilliance, independence and integrity.
Past recipients include Robert Redford, Maria Bello, Robin Williams, Ed Harris, Sean Penn and Nicolas Cage. »

Pamela Anderson's new dance teacher is confident the former Baywatch babe will win the upcoming season of U.S. TV hit Dancing With The Stars - because she's "top heavy" and she works hard to perfect her steps.
Former Dancing champ Apolo Ohno recently criticised the busty actress, insisting her boobs would prevent her from winning the contest.
But Anderson's partner, Aussie Damian Whitewood, claims her biggest assets will work well for her on the dancefloor.

Leonardo DiCaprio is in talks to lead Mel Gibson's new Vikings epic after the two movie stars met in secret to discuss the ambitious project last year.
WENN broke the news about the film in January when Gibson revealed he was planning another trip back in time for a movie about 9th Century England - and he was hoping to recreate an ancient dialect for the movie.
The movie star/director, who wowed film fans with ancient Aramaic in The Passion of The Christ and Mayan in Apocalypto, explained he was tackling old English and Norse as he fulfils his childhood dream of making an ultra-violent Vikings film.
He told WENN, "The very first idea I ever had about making a film, and my first thought about being a filmmaker was when I was 16 years old and I wanted to make a Viking movie in old Norse, which I was studying at the time.
"I'm going to give you real men. I want a Viking to scare you... I want to see someone who I've never seen before speaking low guttural German, who scares the living s**t out of me."
And it seems DiCaprio is game for a leading role in the film.
The Los Angeles Times newspaper reveals Gibson and the Titanic star met for a secret meeting with producer Graham King and screenwriter Bill Monahan, who won an Oscar for Gibson's Braveheart, at the filmmaker's offices in Los Angeles.
Gibson tells the Times, "We're going hammer and tongs on the script right now... There's never been a good Viking film, not that I've seen. I think I have found the right way to get into it, though, but I don't want to say too much. The real problem is making those guys sympathetic. They were monsters."
Producer King adds, "Mel and I were talking and he said he had always wanted to make a Viking movie and I knew, too, that Leonardo DiCaprio had a passion to make a Viking movie... so I decided to get all of us together on it.
"The interest was in both of them for a long time and I can see why - the Vikings are so mysterious, and for an actor to get his teeth into something like that could really lead to some interesting things. And it's something the audience hasn't seen in a long time." »

Sandra Bullock's embattled husband Jesse James has issued a public apology to the Oscar winner and his three children for the "pain and embarrassment" caused by allegations of his infidelity.
The Hollywood couple has been rocked by reports the TV mechanic had an 11-month affair with tattoo model Michelle McGee, which she claims took place while Bullock was shooting The Blind Side on location.
In the expose, by In Touch magazine, McGee further alleges the romance continued into 2010, insisting she has kept intimate text messages from James as proof, with some written as recently as 14 March - the week after Bullock claimed gold at the Oscars and tearfully acknowledged her husband in her acceptance speech.
Bullock, who pulled out of the movie's London premiere and has reportedly moved out of the couple's Long Beach, California home, has yet to comment on the scandal - but James has broken his silence to offer his apologies.
In a statement issued to People.com, James insists the "vast majority" of allegations against him are "untrue and unfounded", but admits his "poor judgement" is to blame for the bad press currently levelled at him.
However, he stops short of admitting to cheating.
The statement reads, "There is only one person to blame for this whole situation, and that is me.
"It's because of my poor judgment that I deserve everything bad that is coming my way. This has caused my wife and kids pain and embarrassment beyond comprehension and I am extremely saddened to have brought this on them.

Veteran actress Betty White turned down the chance to appear on Dancing With The Stars over fears she would "embarrass the audience."
The 88 year old admits she has been approached several times by producers of the show, asking her to hit the dancefloor.
But White is adamant she won't be donning her dancing shoes any time soon - because 83-year-old actress Cloris Leachman filled the quota for veteran stars when she appeared on the seventh season in 2008.
White tells U.S. newsman Larry King, "I have been asked. And I've thanked them very profusely. And I said, no thank you. I think Cloris Leachman took care of that whole department. It would be fun and I would love it. But I think there comes a time when... I don't want to embarrass the audience, but Cloris did it and she did fine. Tatum: 'G.I. Joe Shouldn't Have Been Rushed'

Channing Tatum brushed off negative reviews of his 2009 blockbuster G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra - insisting the script was "rushed" because of the writers' strike.
The movie, based on the G.I. Joe toy franchise, grossed more than $302 million (£201 million) worldwide after its release last year, but was panned by critics for its lacklustre script and weak plot.
But Tatum puts the failings down to the time when the movie was written - because film bosses lost ground during the 2007-2008 strike by the Writers Guild of America, which crippled the movie and TV industry for several months.
And he hopes the upcoming sequel will be better received, because the writers will have more time to focus on getting the storyline right.
He tells Australia's Herald Sun newspaper, "They just found writers, I just found out. I hope they take their time with it and really get it right because they really had to rush it last time because of the writers' strike. They really want to make it great. And I'm here for them whenever they're ready." »
Wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne Johnson wowed U.S. TV audiences with his singing talents on Wednesday night, by staging a musical tribute to his idol, Sam Cooke.
The Scorpion King star travels with an acoustic guitar which was given to him by country legend Willie Nelson several years ago, and agreed to play a short set on late night programme The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.
The comedian lit a candle as Johnson crooned Cooke's You Send Me.
Johnson said, "I was never in a band but I loved playing music... Willie and I have been friends for about 10 years. For my birthday about six or seven years ago I come home and I get this box and inside this box was an exact replica of Willie's (signature) guitar (named) Trigger, and that was awesome." »
Child star Abigail Breslin is desperate to move into darker roles - she wants to land a part in a horror movie.

And Breslin is determined to take on more edgy roles in the future - because she is a massive fan of the horror genre.

Australian Child Star In 'Abuse' Claims

Former child actress Sarah Monahan has shocked fans in her native Australia by alleging she was sexually abused on the set of 1980s sitcom Hey Dad!
The 32 year old shot to fame when she was nine years old playing school girl Jenny Kelly on the show, which ran Down Under from 1987 to 1994.
Monahan has now opened up about her time on the series, alleging she was molested by an unnamed man but was too scared to speak up in case she lost her job.
She tells Australia's Woman's Day magazine, "This person used to sit me on his lap or tickle me, but then he started putting his arm around me and trying to do this reach-around and grabbing me, but at the same time trying to feel me up. He was always there flashing me or trying to cop a feel.
"I quickly learned never to be alone in private with him, especially when he started flashing me."
Monahan has not named the man, or stated whether he was a worker on the show.
The actress' former co-star Julie McGregor has spoken to an Australian TV network about the revelations and admits she's shocked by Monahan's claims.
She tells Nine Network, "I had heard something but I had no idea the extent of the monstering... and I feel sorry for her that there was no one that she could feel she could turn to. I think whoever this person was was very clever. They knew how to operate."
Monahan now runs a TV production company in the U.S. with her husband. »
British actor Hugh Grant ended a glitzy party in London with a food fight after allegedly becoming embroiled in a spat with his former public relations manager.
The About a Boy star was attending a birthday bash at exclusive nightspot Annabel's on Wednesday night when his former representative, PR guru Matthew Freud, overheard the actor allegedly making a disparaging comment about him.
Freud reportedly retaliated by throwing chocolate cake at Grant, smearing the sweet treat all over the star's white shirt, according to Britain's Evening Standard newspaper.
Grant then allegedly aimed a drink in his former associate's direction, but missed.
Freud is said to have left the party, while Grant was given a clean shirt to change into by venue staff and carried on with the festivities, partying with stars including his ex-girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley and Sir Michael Caine. »
Alec Baldwin has fuelled a war of words with an American journalist for reporting on an alleged spat with his 30 Rock co-star Tina Fey.
The actor was left fuming when National Enquirer writer Mike Walker published an article which claimed Baldwin had fallen out with Fey on the set of the hit TV show.
In a subsequent interview with Britain's The Times newspaper, the actor made a series of unflattering comments about Walker, calling him a "whore" and a "queen".
The reporter responded by writing in the U.S. tabloid, "Here's my headline: 'Alec Baldwin - Raging Closet Homophobe!' Grab your pitchforks and torches, Hollywood - the monster lurks among ye! Just for the record: I am not gay, as my wife will attest."

Original Karate Kid Feared 'Robbing' Fans With Remake Cameo

Original Karate Kid star Ralph MacChio insists he snubbed a cameo appearance in the upcoming remake out of loyalty to fans of the 1980s classic.
The actor shot to international fame as a teenager in 1984 when he landed the part of Daniel Larusso in the first Karate Kid movie.
He went on to star in two sequels before the mantle was passed to a young Hilary Swank in 1994's The Next Karate Kid.
The film franchise is now set for a modern twist with Will Smith's son Jayden taking the starring role in a new movie..
Macchio was initially outraged by plans to remake the original film, and although he's now "excited" about the new version, he's refused to make a guest appearance.
He tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "I haven't been involved with the new movie other than having a conversation with Will Smith and his son Jaden, who is the new Karate Kid.
"I have less of a desire to be in it or do a cameo because no one wants to see Daniel Larusso in his forties. It would be like robbing the Karate Kid fans of their youth for me to be in it so I think it's best to keep it separate."
However, Macchio insists he still looking forward to seeing what the Smiths have done in the new film.
He adds, "I'm excited to see it but it is odd because I have been carrying this name and this character for 26 years.

Twilight star Robert Pattinson has deliberately avoided the Hollywood party circuit because he hasn't "any desire" to cash in on his celebrity status.

British TV chef Gordon Ramsay has been targeted by vandals who have spray-painted obscenities on a wall outside his London home.
The Hell's Kitchen star owns a luxurious house in the British capital, which he shares with his wife Tana and their children.
But the reality TV star's property has been defaced with a string of unsightly messages, including "Gordon is s**t" and "Ramsay is a douche" written in red spray paint on a wall and a fence outside his home.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "Gordon will go ballistic that someone has targeted him in this way on his own doorstep."

A representative for Sam Mendes has furiously denied allegations his marriage to Kate Winslet broke down after he struck up a relationship with British actress Rebecca Hall - branding the claims "ridiculous", "utter nonsense" and "untrue".

Corey Feldman has inked a tribute to late actor Corey Haim on his arm - he has a new tattoo to match the one his pal sported when he was alive.
Haim was found unconscious at his mother's home in Los Angeles last Wednesday morning and pronounced dead on arrival at St. Joseph's hospital in Burbank, California.
He was laid to rest in his native Toronto, Canada on Tuesday.
Feldman chose to stay away from the memorial upon Haim's mother's wishes to keep the funeral as low-key as possible.
But as a tribute to his one-time movie collaborator, Feldman took time out of mourning his friend to have the same 222 emblem tattooed on his arm as a permanent reminder of his tragic co-star.

Wood's Sister Wants Death Investigation Re-opened

Natalie Wood's sister has called on police officials to re-open an investigation into the actress' death at sea, insisting modern crime-solving technology will help solve the mystery once and for all.

But Wood's sister Lana insists there are so many things about the tragedy that just don't make sense to her, and she wants the actress' widower, actor Robert Wagner, to recall the events of the awful night one more time.

Attorney General Reveals Haim Had Up To 20 Doctors

The California Attorney General has fuelled speculation Corey Haim died of a drug overdose - after confirming the star's body "took some very damaging assaults" from multiple prescriptions by over a dozen doctors.
The Lost Boys star passed away in Los Angeles last week, he is believed to have collapsed at his mum Judy's house in the early hours of the morning and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
California cops have discovered Haim, who had a long history of addiction, obtained an illegal order for painkiller OxyContin, written out on a fake prescription pad - which has since been linked to a suspected drug ring in San Diego, California.
Officials at the state's Attorney General's office have confirmed one person has been arrested in connection with the case.
And Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. has revealed the tragic actor could have used up to 20 doctors to ensure he got his drug fix.
He tells CNN, "How many people go to 10, 15 or 20 doctors and then run around to 10, 12 and more pharmacies to go fulfill them? And sometimes two different doctors on the same day? If he took all the pills that our records show he was prescribed over the last year and three months, he took some very damaging assaults on his body." »

The Desperate Housewives star insists her sexual encounters are no longer "ego-driven" and 'quickies' are a thing of the past.
She tells More magazine, "Your hormones change. So much of our lives is driven by hormones - sexual, procreative hormones. Believe me, I'm still very sexual, but I'm sexual in a much more energetic, spiritual sense, which is deeper and more fun.
"I had times with people where it (sex) was ego-driven or where you just wanted to have an orgasm. It was like, 'Let's get to the endgame'.
"Great sex means it can go on for hours - and I'm not talking, like, (rock star) Sting... You take a break. You eat something. You talk, you laugh, you hang out. It's ongoing and it's sexy, and your whole life can be like that.
"Of course, you end up having a lot of orgasms, which is a bonus." »
Whitaker's Slimmer Figure Result Of Vegetarian Diet

Oscar winner Forest Whitaker has shed 80 pounds (36.3 kilograms) since becoming a vegetarian three years ago.
The Last King of Scotland star, 48, was required to pile on the pounds for his role as Ugandan dictator Idi Amin in the 2006 film, and decided to give up meat in 2007 in a bid to get back into shape.
Whitaker has slimmed down considerably thanks to a new exercise regime and his healthy eating has paid off so much, he's even considered cutting out dairy produce from his diet too.
A close pal tells the National Enquirer, "Forest will turn 49 in July, and he had a lot of excess fat around his stomach... He's considering becoming a vegan, but for now he's just giving up meat."
The actor revealed he had adopted a vegetarian diet in 2007 when he shot an advertisement for animal rights group PETA.
In the ad, he said, "You may decide to go vegetarian for better health, for a better environment, or you can be like me and just decide you don't want to eat meat anymore." »
Moore's Soap Return Bittersweet

Actress Julianne Moore was thrilled to get the chance to return to the U.S. TV soap where she began her acting career - so she could thank her old castmates and friends before the show was axed.
The Hours star, who played sisters Frannie and Sabrina Hughes on As The World Turns in the mid-1980s, was upset when she heard the long-running show was ending and signed up to appear in one of the final shows.
She tells WENN, "There is no time continuum in soaps, so I just came back as one of the sisters. The other one was stuck somewhere else!
"As The World Turns was my first big job and everyone was wonderful and incredibly professional and very supportive and loving. It was a great job for me, so when they said the show was ending it was incredibly sad because you don't want to see anything end like that.
"I was happy to go back and glad to be there near the end of it. I was glad to see the people who played my parents and the woman who played my sister and to see a couple of the crew members who were still there. It was cool to be able to have that opportunity and to thank people." »
Spelling & McDermott's Marriage In Trouble On TV Show

The cracks are starting to show in Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott's marriage - if screenings of their upcoming reality TV show are anything to go by.
U.S. magazine Life & Style has obtained footage from the new season of Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood - and reports suggest the couple is in trouble.
The publication editors reveal the pair's "once-cosy relationship is now filled with tears, tension and screaming matches".
In one tense encounter, the actor asks the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star, "What changed with me?" prompting his frustrated wife to respond, "It's like you got more and more unhappy and angry. I just want the old Dean back. I really do. I miss you so much."
McDermott admits he isn't the attentive man Spelling married, according to Life & Style, and he has become consumed by an obsession with motorcycle racing, leaving his wife and kids to spend hours speeding around California's Auto Club Speedway several days a week.
On the show, he confesses, "I'm not present as a father and a husband." »
Hopper To Be Honoured On Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Ailing movie legend Dennis Hopper has finally got something to smile about as he battles divorce and cancer - the Easy Rider star is to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The actor will unveil the 2,403rd star in front of the Egyptian Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard on 26 March.
Viggo Mortensen will be on hand to induct Hopper into the Walk of Fame.
Hopper, 73, is suffering from terminal prostate cancer and reportedly has just weeks to live, and in January, he filed for divorce from his wife Victoria Duffy, citing irreconcilable differences.
In February, he received a restraining order against Duffy after his doctor insisted her presence in the home they shared was "hampering his cancer care". »
