Louie PsihoyosDirector Psihoyos Makes Oscar Speech On Late-night TV

Documentary maker Louie Psihoyos got the chance to give his Academy Awards acceptance speech on late night TV in America on Monday after a sign protest at the Oscars cut his time onstage.

The Cove director had just stepped up to the microphone to speak when marine life activist and film consultant Ric O'Barry held up a sign that read 'Text Dolphin to 44144'.

Worried Oscar bosses turned cameras to the audience and cut off power to the mic onstage, rendering Psihoyos inaudible.

But, during an appearance on Lopez Tonight!, the director finally got the chance to say his thank yous for the Best Documentary, Features honour.

He said, "We made this movie to give the oceans a voice because all sea-life is at peril, from the great whales to plankton, which incidentally is responsible for half the oxygen in this room."

The hard-hitting film chronicles the efforts of activists trying to stop the slaughter of sea-life in Japan. »

Silverman 'Will Always Love' Kimmel

U.S. comedienne Sarah Silverman "will always love" her ex-boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel, and she's convinced they will still grow old and "die together."

The couple began dating in 2003 before splitting in 2008 after five years together. They later reunited, but ended the relationship for good early last year.

Silverman has since embarked on a new romance with Family Guy scribe Alec Sulkin, while Kimmel was rumoured to be dating a writer on his hit U.S. TV show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!

But the funnywoman is adamant she will always have feelings for her ex-boyfriend.

She tells Playboy magazine, "We were together for so long and tried our best to make it work. I can think of him now and don't have that edgy feeling anymore. I just love him to pieces. Sometimes loving each other isn't enough. You have to be responsible for your own happiness. You can't stay in a relationship because you're afraid of the unknown. But I will always love him. Sometimes I think maybe we'll die together in our old age or something." »

Winfrey To Face Former Headmistress In Court
7 hours ago

Oprah Winfrey will have to defend herself in a defamation suit over comments she made about the former headmistress of her all-girls school in South Africa, a judge has ruled.

The talk show host has been ordered to attend trial in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 29 March.

Former headmistress Nomvuyo Mzamane accused Winfrey of suggesting she was not trustworthy in comments she made during a 2007 press conference following a sex abuse scandal at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls, near Johannesburg.

A dorm matron was later charged with abusing students.

Following the scandal, the principal's contract was not renewed and she returned to her adopted Philadelphia in the hope of finding work. Mzamane claims she was unable to find work because of Winfrey’s comments.

Judge Eduardo Robreno has agreed that Winfrey's comments were potentially defamatory and he has refused to dismiss the suit against the talk show host.

In calling for the trial, Robreno says, "The implication that (Mzamane) was aware of abuse by the dorm parents and did not react accordingly is capable of defamatory meaning as it ascribes conduct which would render her unfit for her profession as an educator." »

Feldman Pens Moving Open Letter To Late Haim
7 hours ago

Corey Feldman wrote an emotional message to his late pal and co-star Corey Haim on the day of his funeral, telling his tragic friend how his "heart is so broken" since his death last week.

The Lost Boys star was found unconscious at his mother's home in Los Angeles in the early hours of Wednesday morning and pronounced dead on arrival at St. Joseph's hospital in Burbank, California.

Family and close friends gathered to bid farewell to Haim at a private burial in his native Toronto, Canada on Tuesday, but his regular film collaborator Feldman decided to stay away from the memorial to ensure the event remained low-key.

However, Feldman expressed his pain over Haim's passing in a moving post on his official blog.

He writes, "This is for you on the day of your funeral. First off I am so sorry I am not there with you today. By that I mean my physical body is not with your physical body. However you know that my heart is right at your side. You also know the only reason I am truly not there is out of respect for your mother and her wishes to minimise the media attention as much as possible. I want your family to have a calm peaceful day... Just know I am at home today projecting positive energy for you and your passing.

"I miss you so much already. When I think of something funny I don't know who to tell it to. I find myself trying to call you but then remember your not there. I think about the new movies we will soon be doing together and then suddenly realise that the dream is over. I always feared this day would come, and often rehearsed how to face it. But once confronted with the reality of it, it's so much more painful than I could have ever imagined...

"My heart is so broken and I know there are so many who feel the same way I do. We will remember your spirit and your fans will help me keep your legacy alive." »

Douglas' Girlfriend Sentenced To Time Served For Drug Charge
7 hours ago

Cameron Douglas' girlfriend has walked free from prison after a New York judge sentenced her to time served for attempting to smuggle drugs to the troubled actor.

Kelly Sott, 31, was taken into police custody in August after she was caught attempting to hand over methamphetamine, hidden in an electric toothbrush, to Michael Douglas' 32-year-old son while he was under house arrest at his mother Diandra Douglas' Manhattan apartment.

Police subsequently found a stash of heroin, crystal meth and marijuana when they searched the room she had shared with Douglas at the city's Hotel Gansevoort.

Last month, Sott pleaded guilty to a misdemeanour charge of possessing methamphetamine.

She faced up to a year in prison for the crime but during her sentencing in Manhattan federal court on Tuesday, the judge agreed to set her free after she revealed her seven months in jail had helped her to sober up.

She told the court, "I learned a good lesson. I just want to leave all that behind me - the drugs. ...Thank you for giving me a second chance."

However, as part of her punishment, Sott has been ordered to undergo a year-long drug treatment and counselling programme upon her return to her home in Pennsylvania.

Cameron Douglas faces a minimum 10-year prison term when he is sentenced for drug trafficking charges on 27 April.

Reports suggest the It Runs In The Family star had been plotting to move approximately $18,000 (£12,000)-worth of crystal meth from California to New York to sell when an undercover informant alerted the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration of Douglas' involvement.

He pleaded guilty to possessing methamphetamines with intent to distribute during a hearing in January. »

Bullock Curbs Spending After Expensive Mistakes
10 hours ago

Sandra Bullock has curbed her spending habits after a series of expensive mistakes - insisting she now thinks twice before paying "exorbitant amounts" for designer clothes.

The Oscar-winning actress admits she's now extra careful when she spends money on pricey clothes and accessories, because she has a wardrobe full of unworn items.

She says, "I've learned from painful mistakes about the pressure in the store to pay exorbitant amounts for stuff that isn't right. Five years later, it's still in your closet with the tag on it. I have $900 guilt shoes. I'm thinking about putting them on a shelf with a spotlight on them to remind me about such mistakes." »

Alley Denies Scientology Link To Diet Plan
10 hours ago

Kirstie Alley has hit back at reports her new weightloss programme will fund Scientology teachings, insisting the accusations are "not true".

The former Weight Watchers spokeswoman recently launched Organic Liaison LLC after years of battling her size under the glare of the spotlight.

Members pay between $10 (£6) and $149 (£93) per month to follow the regime, which combines an organic food diet with vitamins and supplements.

Recent reports suggested money from the company was channelled directly into the church after links between Organic Liaison and Scientology were uncovered. The firm's accountant, Saul B Lipson, is a known Scientologist whose company is approved by the church and based near its headquarters in Clearwater, Florida. The board also features active Scientologist Michelle Seward.

But Alley, a practising Scientologist, insists the claims have no merit.

She says, "It's bulls**t. It's not true. The address in Clearwater is my accountant, and he's a Scientology Jew." »

Sheen Back At Work

Troubled actor Charlie Sheen has left rehab and resumed filming on his hit TV show Two And A Half Men.

Production on the U.S. comedy series was suspended last month when Sheen, who has a history of drug abuse, was admitted to a recovery facility as a "preventative measure".

Sheen's wife Brooke Mueller also received treatment in rehab following a turbulent few weeks for the couple, which began with a Christmas Day bust-up between the pair. The altercation resulted in Sheen's arrest and he was subsequently charged with a string of felonies.

But the actor has now returned to work - he headed back to the Burbank, California set on Tuesday morning, his agent Stan Rosenfeld has confirmed to the Associated Press.

On Monday, Sheen appeared in Colorado's Pitkin County District Court, where he pleaded not guilty to domestic violence charges stemming from the December altercation.

Sheen is next due in court on 19 April, while a three-day pre-trial hearing will begin on 21 July. »

Labeouf Takes Aim At Kardashian

Shia Labeouf has taken aim at reality TV star Khloe Kardashian for speaking out about his widely-publicised 2008 car crash after he was wrongly accused of drink driving.

Early reports suggested the 23 year old was intoxicated when his truck collided with another vehicle in Los Angeles in July 2008, leaving him with a severely injured left hand.

Police later declared the Transformers actor was not at fault, blaming the driver of the other car for causing the crash.

But Labeouf admits he was disgusted when fellow young Hollywood stars began weighing in on the incident, including Kim Kardashian's younger sister, who served jail time for a 2007 drink driving charge.

He tells America's GQ magazine, "I'd be watching the news, and they'd play my car crash, and every once in a while Kim Kardashian's sister would jump on TV and preach to me from the red carpet about how to live my f**king life.

"And I'm so upset, man. I'm so angry. Because this accident was not caused by me. I got hit. I had a green (light). This f**ker ran a red light. And he flipped my truck, and he shovelled it on my hand. And my fingers are in the street… they're off, they're under the truck door, man. This is fake, dude."

Labeouf was not formally charged in the incident but he had his driving licence suspended until January after refusing to take a breath test at the time of the accident. »

Former child actor Todd Bridges has been shunned by his Diff'rent Strokes co-star Gary Coleman in recent years - but he's refusing to take the snub personally as the diminutive star is "very mad at the world".

Bridges admits he has been concerned for his former colleague after Coleman suffered a string of health problems, most recently being hospitalised in Los Angeles following a suspected seizure.

The actor reveals he has reached out to Coleman, but his former friend didn't want to speak to him.

He tells U.S. newsman Larry King, "Gary Coleman, you know, I really love Gary. But he is suffering from just the whole thing of physical, you know - health-wise, he's not great. And he's very mad at the world. And I understand that.

"I tried talking to him. But he doesn't want to communicate very much with us." »

Aniston's Panic After Bounty Hunter Trunk Stunt
13 hours ago

Jennifer Aniston was struck with panic while shooting a scene for The Bounty Hunter after the crew locked her in the trunk of a car - and then forgot about her.

The former Friends star was filming with Scottish actor Gerard Butler for the upcoming movie, about a bounty hunter who learns his next target is his ex-wife, played by Aniston.

But she wasn't laughing after her co-star shut the trunk during one comedic scene, and walked away to chat with the crew, leaving her with little air.

She explains, "They left me in that trunk once. Of course they said, 'Are you going to be Ok?' We're shutting the trunk.' Every couple of takes I would get a sip of water and a cracker. And there was this one moment when they were overly discussing a shot and all of a sudden the voices all faded." »

Stiller Delayed Zoolander Sequel After Pal's Death
13 hours ago

Ben Stiller has explained the 10-year delay on the Zoolander sequel - he found it too painful to revisit the film following the suicide of the screenwriter behind the hit character.

The actor, who starred in and directed the hit 2001 movie, recently announced plans to bring Zoolander back to the big screen nearly a decade after the first film hit cinemas.

Stiller has been keen to make a follow-up for the "last six or seven years" but admits he found it difficult to contemplate work on a sequel after his screenwriter pal Drake Sather, the scribe who created the title character, committed suicide in 2004.

He tells Parade magazine, "We've been working on it on and off over the last six or seven years. The biggest hurdle for me personally was that Drake Sather, who created the character, passed away. He was a good friend and the lump for me was it's hard to imagine doing it without him.

"Now my buddy, Justin Theroux, has committed to directing and writing it. So I'm excited and I think it's going to happen. I want to be able to do something that lives up to the first one. That's the challenge." »

Jolie's Afghanistan School Opens

Angelina Jolie has opened a school for girls in Afghanistan after donating $75,000 (£50,000) towards education facilities for female students.

The Hollywood actress visited the Tangi region in the war-torn country in October 2008, and was moved by the stories of displaced families who were reluctant to send their daughters to mixed schools for cultural reasons.

Jolie, who works as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations (U.N), donated a sum of cash to help build a girls school in the region and the institution finally opened its doors on Monday - 18 months after the star's visit.

The building features eight classrooms, four administration buildings and can accommodate up to 800 students.

Speaking at the opening ceremony,14-year-old Laila, whose family returned to Afghanistan from neighbouring Pakistan in 2008, praised Jolie and the U.N. for pouring money into education.

She said, "I always had hopes and dreams of going to school. The hope to become a qualified teacher has revived in me."

Her father, Ustad, adds, "This is what we needed here and I believe there is a need for every community if we want to build the future of our country - to build schools and get education." »

De Niro Recovers Late Father's Art

Robert De Niro has reclaimed some of his late father's artwork after brokering a deal with the administrators of a bankrupt New York City gallery, whose founder has been accused of stealing the pieces.

The Taxi Driver star, who is the executor of his father's estate, filed suit against Salander-o'Reilly Galleries owner Lawrence Salander in 2007, alleging he sold some of De Niro Sr.'s works to settle the company's debts.

De Niro has now made a deal with the trustee overseeing the bankrupt firm - he's handed over a $14,000 (£8,750) cheque in exchange for six works of art by his father, who was an abstract expressionist painter and sculptor. The deal stops the pieces from going to auction along with other works once housed at the gallery.

The artwork represents half the number of the pieces gallery founder Salander has been charged with stealing from De Niro Sr.

The lot of 12 works was valued at more than $1 million (£625,000), reports the New York Post.

Salander declared bankruptcy in 2007 and is awaiting trial on charges of cheating clients out of $88 million (£55 million). »

Bridges' Mother Helped Him Kick Drugs

Former Diff'rent Strokes star Todd Bridges has credited his mother with helping him kick drugs - because she gave him an ultimatum the last time he was in trouble with the law.

The former child star sank into a downward spiral of drug addiction after the show came to an end in 1986, after allegedly suffering abuse at the hands of his father and being sexually molested by his former agent.

Bridges admits he was on a "suicidal path" when he was in his 20s, and after a string of arrests, a spell in prison and time in rehab, it took a final warning from his mother to finally convince him to sort his life out.

He tells U.S. talk show host Larry King, "I wanted a different life. I wanted to feel - not feel the pain anymore of all the suffering from what I was putting myself through. And, you know, once an addict gets sick and tired of being sick and tired, he wants to straighten his life out. I remember going to court one last time, mother, help me out one more time. She wasn't a caretaker. She told me that if you continue using drugs, I'll never help you again.

"And I remember going to court and I was sitting in court, and I realised that I was tired and I was ready. But at that particular time when I was ready, I still didn't know how to go about it to really change my life. And God put the right people in my path to really help me find freedom. I went to rehab. But this time I went to rehab and shut my mouth and really listened, and really realised that I had to change the heartache and pain I was feeling." »

Longoria Parker's Lavish Birthday Bash

Later in the day they set sail on a luxury yacht, chartered by her basketball player husband Tony Parker.

The actress took to the internet to thank all her friends for turning out for the celebrations, and posted pictures of herself with Parker as they watched a plane write a special message in the sky.

Shields Apologises To New York Neighbours
17 hours ago

Brooke Shields has apologised to her neighbours in New York City following a barrage of noise complaints over building work on her Manhattan townhouse.

The actress owns a multi-million dollar property in the Big Apple's West Village and has hired contractors to carry out a series of renovations.

But the building work has infuriated other residents - who have complained about the ongoing noise.

One disgruntled neighbour tells the New York Daily News, "They start construction at six am every morning, and people are outraged.

"This has been going on for months, and people in surrounding buildings are threatening their property managers that they'll move out if it doesn't stop."

Another resident adds, "It's a pretty close-knit environment around here, and it's always nice to see a famous face. Now people definitely have strong feelings about Brooke disrupting the normally peaceful atmosphere."

But a spokesperson for Shields has confirmed the actress and her husband Chris Henchy have a legal permit for the building work, and are sorry for all the disruption.

The representative says, "(The work is) up to code every step of the way. They truly apologise about the noise or any inconvenience and hope more than anybody to have it finished as soon as possible." »

Bridges Tried To Help Tragic Haim

Former Diff'rent Strokes star Todd Bridges reached out to Corey Haim last year in a bid to curb the late actor's alleged prescription drug habit.

The Lost Boys star, who had a long history of drug problems, died last Wednesday after suffering a suspected overdose.

And Bridges, who has also battled addiction, admits he contacted his friend a year ago and warned him about the dangers of using medication.

He tells America's Today show, "I had tried to get Corey to stop taking prescription drugs and take care of his life. I tried to get him to understand that there was a different way out. He wasn't ready to stop. The thing about drug addiction is, sometimes people are ready to stop and sometimes they're not. You have to have it in your mind that you're ready to stop."

Bridges adds in a separate interview with U.S. newsman Larry King, "I knew Corey Haim and I tried to help, but he just wasn't ready. And two things will happen with drug addiction, either you'll go insane or you'll have death. That's something a practising druggie has to look forward to." »

Charlie Sheen is looking forward to "clearing his name" when his domestic violence case heads to trial, after pleading not guilty to three charges stemming from an alleged altercation with his wife Brooke Mueller.

The actor was arrested on Christmas Day after a bust-up with his partner in Aspen, Colorado, and he answered a charge of felony menacing and two misdemeanours for assault and criminal mischief at a court hearing on Monday.

Both Sheen and Mueller spent time in rehab after the incident, and the Two and A Half Men star put his work on the sitcom on hold while he underwent treatment. He is now preparing to go back to work on Friday and executive producer, Mark Burg, reveals Sheen entered the not guilty pleas because he is determined to "clear his name".

Burg also admits the actor is looking forward to finishing filming the current series of Two and A Half Men so he can take a break and spend time with his wife and their baby twins.

He tells People.com, "Charlie is looking forward to going back to work for the final four episodes of Two and A Half Men. He's also looking forward to clearing his name, putting all of this behind him and spending time with his kids during his hiatus."

Sheen's next court date in Colorado is scheduled for 19 April, while a three-day pre-trial hearing will begin on 21 July. »

The Hills Bosses 'Order Pratt To Anger Management Class'

The Hills star Spencer Pratt has been ordered to take a six-week hiatus from the hit reality show and undergo anger management classes - after he allegedly lost his temper with a producer, according to a new report.

Rumours about the star's imminent departure from the show hit the internet on Monday, amid claims Pratt will be taking time out of TV to work in the cyber security division at American Defense Enterprise.

However, it has now emerged that bosses on the popular MTV series told Pratt to leave the show for a period of six weeks, according to UsWeekly.com.

A source tells the publication, "All of that stuff about him leaving The Hills to fight cyber crime is not true. He is leaving The Hills for six weeks because he was asked to.

"He got so crazy that he screamed at (the producer, saying), 'I should kill you for even asking me to do that!'"

Following a complaint from the producer, executives allegedly ordered Pratt to undergo an anger management program to ensure his future on the show, adds the insider. »

Hancock Slams 'Snotty' Theatre Peers

British stage veteran Sheila Hancock has slammed her theatre contemporaries for their "snooty" attitude towards successful West End musicals.

The 77 year old has a starring role in Sister Act - the London stage adaptation of Whoopi Goldberg's hit movie.

And Hancock can't understand why the theatre crowd is so dismissive of big musicals - because they are guaranteed ticket-sellers.

She tells Britain's Radio Times, "(There is an) incredibly grand attitude (towards musicals). I don't understand why my profession is so snooty about it. Big houses (theatres) must do musicals to fill them. You're never going to get 2,400 people a night for a play. You really aren't. We should be so grateful for musicals." »

Currie's Rape Scene Cut From Runaways Film
21 hours ago

Cherie Currie's teenage rape ordeal was axed from the storyline of the new The Runaways biopic - because writer/director Floria Sigismondi didn't want the Cherry Bomb singer to lose her innocence at the beginning of the movie.

Currie, who is portrayed by Dakota Fanning in the new film, admits there was a sexual assault that inspired her whole look, but Sigismondi didn't want to dwell on an incident before the rocker formed the band with Joan Jett.

The rock star reveals, "There were particular reasons why I cut my hair into a (David) Bowie haircut. That was because when my twin sister's boyfriend found out I was a virgin, he decided to take my virginity at force. I cut my hair kind of in retaliation of that.

"But the filmmakers felt that I would be losing my innocence too early in the film."

Currie admits it's one of the only things about the new biopic she takes issue with: "I thought, 'Why is she (Dakota Fanning's Currie) just cutting her hair?' It didn't make sense going from this surfer girl to this tough chick without an explanation." »

Winslet & Mendes 'Drifted Apart After Revolutionary Road'

Kate Winslet's marriage to Sam Mendes began to unravel after they worked together on critically-acclaimed movie Revolutionary Road, according to a U.K. report.

The British actress and her director partner announced their split on Monday following nearly seven years as husband and wife.

In a statement, a representative for the couple said, "They are saddened to announce they separated earlier this year. The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children."

The couple's problems reportedly began to surface during the filming of 2008's Revolutionary Road, which saw Mendes direct Winslet and her former Titanic co-star Leonardo DiCaprio, according to Britain's The Sun newspaper.

A source tells the publication, "Sam and Kate had been arguing a lot after Revolutionary Road, their last movie together. They were spending a lot less time together.

"Their closest friends were aware that they had been on the rocks for over a year. The relationship was intense and arguments often kicked off.

"They have been living separately for a while. There had been some huge rows behind closed doors before they decided to formally separate."

Winslet and Mendes married in 2003, and have a son, Joe, who was born the same year. The Brit actress also has a daughter, Mia, from her first marriage to Jim Threapleton. »

Porn Star Grey To Play Stern Christian In New Horror Movie
15 March 2010 6:36 PM, PDT

Top porn star Sasha Grey has landed an odd new movie role as a Bible-wielding teen who takes a purity pledge and refuses to have sex before marriage.

The adult film star, who has appeared in over 180 porn movies in the past four years, has signed up to star in new horror film Hallows - as an unlikely virgin.

Writer/director Richard O'Sullivan says, "We toyed with offering Sasha another sexier role in the film, but she fell in love with the idea of playing against type, portraying the exact opposite of what the public perceives her to be."

It's not Grey's first non-porn movie - the 22 year old star won rave reviews last year for her lead performance in Steven Soderbergh's The Girlfriend Experience.

Ironically, top Christian film star Christina Cupo will also play against type - as a heavily pierced and tattooed goth girl with a fondness for sado-masochism in the movie. »

Brooks Planning Blazing Saddles Musical
15 March 2010 6:36 PM, PDT

Mel Brooks is hoping to follow the success of stage adaptations of movies Young Frankenstein and The Producers by turning cult 1974 film Blazing Saddles into a new musical.

The moviemaker has reportedly written two songs for the show and is currently working on a third.

In an interview with The Canadian Press, Brooks said, "If I did it, I wouldn't rush to New York with it because the Times (newspaper) would say, 'Oh dear, oh dear, another movie converted and transmogrified into a musical... The Times was only lukewarm to Young Frankenstein." »

Meditating Bundchen Empowered By Baby Birth
15 March 2010 6:36 PM, PDT

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen meditated throughout her home delivery and reveals the whole experience of giving birth was amazing and empowering.

The Brazilian superstar has dismissed reports she went into labour at a Boston, Massachusetts hospital, insisting it was always her dream to have a water birth at home - and everything went to plan when she became a first-time mum in December.

Speaking at length for the first time about the day baby Benjamin - her son with husband Tom Brady - was born, Bundchen tells Vogue magazine, "I wanted to experience the transformation... It was the most amazing experience of my life, feeling him (son) come through my body. And once he was born, I never felt so empowered as looking at him and thinking, 'Oh, my God, we did it together!'"

The model admits Benjamin wasn't her first choice for a name: "I wanted him to be called River because I wanted something always flowing, immortal.

"My husband said, 'There's no way we're going to call him River.' But my father's name is Reinoldo, so it's a homage to him. And it's like water." »

Seyfried Bans Dad From Steamy New Film
15 March 2010 6:36 PM, PDT

Mamma Mia! star Amanda Seyfried has banned her father from seeing her latest movie because it features intimate scenes with both sexes.

The actress admits she had no problems with her mother seeing the film, Chloe, at its premiere - but her dad wasn't allowed to be there.

She tells WENN, "My mum can see whatever she pleases but I actually gave strict rules to my father to not come. He would normally come to my premiere and I am not comfortable with that.

"If he ever does see this film, he's gonna have to see it in clips. I just don't want to share it with him for a lot of obvious reasons."

And Seyfried admits that watching the film with her mother sitting next to her at the Toronto Film Festival in Canada was tough enough, especially when her escort character had a lesbian encounter with co-star Julianne Moore.

She recalls, "I didn't know what to do with my hands when the love scene with Julianne was on.

"I usually cover my eyes when I'm doing something questionable but this was really awkward. I really couldn't wrap my head around how I'm supposed to behave or what I'm supposed to feel with that."

And the young star admits shooting the scene was just as awkward as watching it.

She adds, "Usually I'm no stranger to having a drink before an intimate scene, but this was something we were working on for hours and I had to be focused.

"It was really scary and the day before we did the love scene, we had it choreographed with the two stand-ins. Then I understood it was going to be a slow-moving delicate piece and it was; it turned out to be that and it was also revealing. It's not a PG scene. It's realistic. It doesn't cut off right when it's about to explode." »

Cotillard Suffers Pin Stab During French Cultural Honour
15 March 2010 6:36 PM, PDT

Oscar winner Marion Cotillard winched in pain as she was honoured by the French government on Monday after the country's Culture Minister Frederic Mitterrand accidentally stabbed her as he pinned a medallion to her blouse.

The French actress, who took home gold for her portrayal of Edith Piaf in La Vie En Rose, was made an officer in the Order of Arts and Letters in a ceremony in Paris on Monday, alongside director Tim Burton.

But Cotillard was left nursing a minor injury as Mitterrand attempted to attach the green and gold accolade to her chest - only to stick the pin into the star's flesh.

However, the actress managed to laugh off the mishap as Mitterrand offered his arm for support and apologised profusely for his mistake. »

Whitaker Signed Up To Criminal Minds Spin-off For Kids
15 March 2010 6:36 PM, PDT

Oscar winner Forest Whitaker jumped at the chance to star in a spin-off to hit TV drama Criminal Minds because the filming schedule allows him to spend more time with his family.

The Last King of Scotland star, who previously starred in TV drama The Shield, was asked to front the upcoming cop series by bosses at America's CBS network earlier this year and he admits returning to the small screen was an easy decision to make.

He says, "They approached me at the right time - I have two children who are 11 and 13, and I want to see them."

But Whitaker insists his TV stint will not put an end to his Hollywood career as an actor and director.

He adds, "I don't see boundaries like other people do. I'll do whatever. I'll do a video. I'll go direct. I just like to create. And I'm having a great time on the show.

"Sometimes I think, 'Am I going to have enough discipline? Am I going to be disciplined enough to get up and write (movies) when I need to?' Otherwise, when I’m doing it (TV show), it’s a blast - I won’t do as many movies. I’ll do one a year; I’ll try not to do two. So one movie a year - that’s what most of my peers do anyway."

Whitaker and his wife Keisha are parents to young girls Sonnet and True. The actor also has two older children, daughter Autumn and son Ocean, from previous relationships. »

Cyrus Urges The Media To Be Kinder In The Wake Of Celebrity Deaths
15 March 2010 6:36 PM, PDT

Miley Cyrus hopes the deaths of Brittany Murphy, Casey Johnson and Corey Haim will prompt the U.S. media to be nicer to Hollywood stars and socialites.

The pop star and actress has spoken out about the pressures of fame on young stars, and blames the tabloids for making their lives a misery.

She tells HollyScoop.com, "Maybe people would stop being so mean to people that (sic) are in this business... because, if something does happen, it's just another story to sell. People should learn to be respectful and realise that love makes the world go round.

"It's not your job to sell another stupid magazine for a story that is going to be over in five minutes."

Cyrus insists she avoids the tabloids altogether - and never reads what they print about her and her famous friends: "I just live under my own little rock. I don't really read things or get out often... I'm not the most social human being. I just try to ignore everyone." »
