Hendricks Gloats About Fame
Mad Men star Christina Hendricks relishes her newfound stardom - because she felt "invisible" before she landed her dream job.
The actress admits she never "fitted in" when she first started out in Hollywood, and was stunned when she was suddenly in demand after landing her role in the U.S. drama in 2007.
And she likes to use her star status to gloat over peers who shunned her when she was a struggling actress.
Hendricks tells Britain's Elle magazine, "I've never quite felt like I fitted in. It's as if I was invisible before Mad Men; now people come up and say, 'God, I love the show, I'm so-and-so,' and I'm like, 'I know, I had dinner with you three years ago.'
"Interesting that someone can dismiss you and then all of a sudden you're important. I feel like Mad Men is revenge enough. I'm like, 'Look at my great job and suck it!'" »

Winner Refuses To Curb Spending
Death Wish director Michael Winner is refusing to curb his lavish spending habits even though he is $13.5 million (£9 million) in debt.
The British moviemaker admits he spends $142,500 (£95,000) on holidays every year, and wracks up massive bills by chartering private jets - because he can't bear to travel on commercial flights.
And although he has been forced to take out a loan to help cover his expenditure, the 74 year old has no plans to cut back on his extravagances.
He tells Piers Morgan's Life Stories, "It costs £1.5 million to be me every year. I'm less rich than I was because I'm £9 million in debt. I have assets but I have borrowed against them.
"I like spending. It's fun. Anybody likes the ability to spend money and enjoy it. I feel very happy about it. I'm a bargain! I'm a national treasure. It's very vulgar to say the exact amount (of my fortune) but I'm worth more than £79 million but less than £150 million." »

Law To See Lovechild 'Twice A Year'
Jude Law has reportedly thrashed out a custody deal with the mother of his lovechild - he will allegedly see his daughter twice a year and pay maintenance.
The Brit became a father for the fourth time in September after American model Samantha Burke conceived during a brief fling with the actor while he filmed Sherlock Holmes in New York.
Law met little Sophia for the first time last month during a trip to Florida and is said to have agreed a deal with Burke to visit her bi-annually and hand over regular childcare payments, according to Britain's News of the World.
The maintenance payments are believed to total $5,000 (£3,292) a month and were agreed along with a confidentiality clause which will prevent Burke from talking to the press.
A source tells the newspaper, "Jude will visit his daughter at least twice a year, once around Christmas. His visit (to meet Sophia in February) was fleeting and seemed mainly business-like."
Law also has three kids with ex-wife Sadie Frost. »

Garcia Refused To Watch Daughter's Stripping Scenes
10 hours ago
Andy Garcia couldn't bring himself to watch his daughter stripping off and pole dancing on the set of their new movie.
Dominik Garcia-Lorido has hit the headlines as a college student secretly stripping to pay her tuition in new movie City Island, in which the Ocean's Eleven star plays her father.
But her dad didn't want to hang around to check out the stunning 26-year-old former ballet dancer's pole dancing moves.
Garcia-Lorido, who was Miss Golden Globes in 2003, tells WENN, "My father says he wanted to leave the state but he didn't have to leave. I told him to come to the set but my sister was looking for colleges at the time to attend in Boston so my parents went with her that weekend so it was perfect timing and he couldn't be there."
She admits she took pole dancing lessons in Los Angeles for a month before filming started, but she had to shape up for the scenes in which she stripped: "When we went to shoot the movie in New York I didn't have to shoot those scenes until the end of the month so I was eating pasta every day and I wasn't in shape anymore.
"I couldn't remember anything and the night before I shot my scenes we did a rehearsal with another teacher in New York and we choreographed what the director wanted and what positions he wanted me in.
"There was a whole other scene that was cut out of the movie, where I was talking and stripping at the same time - which was weird. I couldn't do the choreography and the moves to the dialogue." »

More Tax Trouble For Ramsay
British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has been named and shamed by officials in New York who have listed him among the city's worst "delinquent tax payers."
Ramsay's business empire has suffered in the recent economic downturn and in 2009 he was advised to file for bankruptcy because of his spiralling money issues,
The TV star managed to stave off the debt-collectors momentarily by pumping $8 million (£5 million) of his own money into his businesses in a last ditch bid to keep afloat, but has subsequently been hit with a series of bills and legal issues.
Late last year British tax officials ordered the TV star to pay off a series of outstanding debts in relation to two of his restaurants in London, and he was also hit with an allegedly unpaid bill from a U.S. dairy company in relation to his Manhattan eaterie.
Now tax officials in New York are said to be chasing the chef for $250,000 (£166,000) after he allegedly fell behind with payments.
His U.S. company, Gordon Ramsay New York, has also been listed by the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance (Dtf) as among the Big Apple's top 250 business "delinquent tax payers."
A Dtf spokesperson says, "New York loses billions of dollars each year in tax revenues owed, but not collected, known as the tax gap. We aggressively address the tax gap."
A rep for Ramsay's company adds, "There is an amount still outstanding to the New York State regarding Sales Tax. We are negotiating through our New York advisors to discharge this debt." »

Memorabilia Company To Cover Haim's Funeral Costs
10 hours ago
Bosses at a U.S. memorabilia company have offered to pay Corey Haim's funeral costs - after the tragic star's relatives appealed to fans to help fund a proper memorial.
The Lost Boys star died of a suspected drug overdose in Los Angeles on Wednesday, and his family members revealed they were struggling to gather enough money to fly his body home to his native Canada.
They set up an online fund so fans could donate to Haim's funeral costs, and began selling the late actor's possessions on internet auction site eBay.com.
But now executives at Startifacts, the company helping to sell Haim's belongings online, have offered to hand his mother a $20,000 (£13,300) cheque ahead of the memorial, instead of making her wait for all of the money to come through after the online auctions finish.
Haim will be buried in Toronto, Canada next week (beg15Mar10). »
