Health nut Jennie Garth has turned her front lawn into a vegetable garden, so her three daughters can learn all about the benefits of eating organic produce.
The actress, who is married to Twilight star Peter Facinelli, grew up on a farm and she missed being able to garden for her own fruit and vegetables, so she persuaded her husband to let her turn their Hollywood estate into a vegetable garden.
The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star, who is also a spokesperson for the American Heart Association, says, "I lived on a farm and we had a big garden, so gardening and growing our own vegetables was just part of our lives.
"I recently, with my girls, planted a very small garden in our front yard of our city house and I don't really care that everyone can see it because I have to have a garden somewhere and they love it.
"We have lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, sugar snap peas, and strawberries. The girls love getting dirty and picking vegetables they want to grow every year and watering them and growing them. I let them help me cook them, which puts a different perspective on it.
"I'm not just serving the food to them and forcing them to eat it. They really are invested and they care about what they're eating. Kids like the vegetables when they're raw, actually, and they can dip them into ranch dressing or chocolate; I don't care as long as they're eating their vegetables!" »

Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman will switch bodies in a new buddy comedy movie.
The pair has signed to play a family man and his lazy pal who are forced to swap roles in The Change-Up - which has been written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the scribes behind 2009 hit The Hangover.
A director has yet to be recruited, but Reynolds and Bateman, who starred together in 2006 movie Smokin' Aces, are expected to start work on the new film in September, reports Daily Variety. »

Appearing on late-night U.S. chat show Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday, Richie refused to correct the host when he kept referring to the Good Charlotte star as her husband.
When Kimmel quipped, "Thankyou for being here on your husband's 31st birthday..." Richie smiled and responded, "I'm so excited to be spending it with you." The comedian later referred to Madden's twin brother Benji as her brother-in-law.

Francis Hit With $29 Million Tax Claim

Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis is still not free of his financial woes - tax officials are demanding part payment of a $34 million (£21.3 million) bill, just weeks after dropping the case, according to a U.S. report.
Bosses at America's Internal Revenue Service (IRS) filed a lien against Francis for the cash in November, after he allegedly fell behind with payments in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
Francis insisted he was baffled by the IRS claim and was relieved when chiefs dropped the massive demand last month.
But IRS bosses admit they made a mistake dropping the case - and are now demanding a part payment of $29.4 million (£19.6 million) from Francis, according to TMZ.com. »
A representative for Joaquin Phoenix has shot down reports the star is preparing to return to the big screen as Edgar Allen Poe.
Slumdog Millionaire sound designer Resul Pookutty claimed earlier this week (begs08Mar10) that Phoenix was tuning his back on his newfound rap career to head back to filmmaking.
He told India's Mumbai Mirror the star had signed up to play iconic American writer and poet Poe in an upcoming movie.

Police in the U.K. are investigating claims comic actress Catherine Tate has been receiving sinister letters alleging she is having an affair.
The former Doctor Who star reportedly called in cops earlier this month after a series of anonymous notes were posted to her home in London.
The messages allegedly accused Tate of cheating on her husband, Twig Clark, according to Britain's The Sun.
A source tells the publication, "The letters were nasty and caused great alarm. They contain completely false allegations. Catherine is understandably incredibly upset. It's very sinister."
A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirms, "Police received a complaint from a man on Sunday regarding malicious communications. Detectives are investigating."

Haim's Name Linked To San Diego Drug Ring Investigation

California authorities are investigating tragic actor Corey Haim's alleged links to a prescription drug scam.
The state's Attorney General's office launched the investigation on Friday after finding an unauthorised prescription in Haim's name during a separate sting operation connected to a San Diego, California man.
According to reports, members of the drug ring operated by ordering official prescription drug stationery from authorised sources and then used stolen doctor identities to access illegal medication.
The pads were either sold to prescription drug users, or to people who would then fill the prescription and sell them on the underground market, according to the Attorney General's office.
News show Entertainment Tonight reports over 4,500 fraudulent prescriptions in Southern California have been linked to the drug scam.

Steven Spielberg has cast a familiar face in his new World War II mini-series The Pacific - he's handed a role to Jurassic Park child star Joe Mazzello.
Mazzello was just nine when he was cast as Sir Richard Attenborough's grandson Tim Murphy in the dinosaur adventure.
He then starred in sequel The Lost World and a string of other movies before he quit acting to study.
After graduating college, Mazzello picked up where he left off, and, at the age of 27, he has reteamed with Spielberg for The Pacific, in which he plays a soldier.
Mazzello reveals, "Acting was something I always knew I'd come back to."

Haim's Family Call On Fans For Funeral Finance Help

Tragic actor Corey Haim's family members have started an online fund so the dead star can have a proper funeral in his native Toronto, Canada.
The Lost Boys star, who died of a suspected drug overdose in Los Angeles on Wednesday, will be flown home and buried in Toronto next week (beg15Mar10) - if his family can afford the costs of shipping and the funeral itself.
And they're asking fans to help.
In a post on Haim's website, a family representative writes, "Due to the unexpected expenses of transporting his body to Canada for final resting, a fund has been set up to help."
Details of where to send the cash or how to pay online have been listed.
Haim's mother Judy, who came across the troubled star's body and called the emergency services, is listed as the recipient of the cash.
Meanwhile, longtime pal and fellow former child star Scott Schwartz has been given the task of selling off Haim's personal belongings on auction website eBay.com to help pay for the funeral costs.
He says, "There's shirts and jackets, hoodies, his favourite pair of Nikes... and the jacket he wore in (his last film) American Sunset."
In a TV interview earlier this week (ends12Mar10), Haim's best friend Corey Feldman explained the actor was so broke at the time of his death he "didn't even have a car." »
