Broadway vet Cheyenne Jackson is already a pro at belting out tunes onstage, and thanks to guest gigs on Glee and 30 Rock, he has been “schooled” in the art of the small screen, as well. Now Jackson takes on his most challenging endeavor yet: writing and recording a full album of his own. "I’ve always written music, but now, actually sharing it, you feel vulnerable. You feel like that’s your baby," Jackson tells The Hollywood Reporter. "I’m learning that that is Ok. Hopefully people like it -- it’s been getting a nice response, but that’s not really the

Olympics 2012: 'Today' Enjoys a Much-Needed Ratings Rebound During First Week

After a summer that's seen a highly publicized host shake-up, the end of a nearly 17-year winning streak in viewers and the key demo and, most recently, a rather frantic (and quickly rebuked) story about going into crisis mode, NBC's Today has something to brag about this week. Photos: Olympics 2012: The Most Memorable Moments From the Games During the first four days of Olympic coverage, the morning show maintained a significant lead above Good Morning America -- on some days posting its best margins of victory for the entire year and nearly 6 million viewers on three occasions.

Movie Ticket Prices Reach All-Time High in Q2 of 2012

The average price to see a movie in the U.S. rose slightly in the first half of 2012 to an all-time high. But the increase was not as steep as in most of the past 17 years, in part because of a slowdown in the number of premium-priced 3D tickets. According to the National Association of Theatre Owners, the average ticket price rose to $8.02 from $7.93 in 2011, a 1.1 percent increase. Go On: TV Review

Sometimes trying to figure out how good a sitcom will be based on one episode is like guessing what college a baby will get into when he or she grows up. There are precious few comedies that are perfect as pilots, as 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation and plenty of others can attest (perhaps especially Seinfeld). Last season, New Girl, Don’t Trust the B---- in Apt. 23, Happy Endings and Bob’s Burgers all showed impressive creative growth (though nothing might compare to 30 Rock and Parks in how dramatically they turned around dubious starts). That’s really the norm: Excellent sitcoms
