Kruger Danced To Escape Family Torment
29 May 2009 12:00 PM, PDT
Diane Kruger was so distraught at her father's descent into alcoholism, she
became obsessed with ballet to take her mind off her traumatic home life.
The Troy star grew up in Germany but has not seen her dad for 13 years since
his drink problem ripped the family apart.
And she was so desperate to escape her hellish home life, she threw herself
into dancing as a coping mechanism.
She says, "My dad was an alcoholic and we left him. It was a bad situation
at home and my mum, my brother and I left overnight... Ballet helped me through
many things in life, gave me discipline and hope - something beautiful."

Dioguardi Was Bribed To Strip On American Idol Finale
29 May 2009 12:00 PM, PDT
American Idol judge Kara Dioguardi only agreed to strip off onstage during
the reality show's finale last week after producers agreed to give money
to charity.
Talent show bosses wanted DioGuardi to peel down to a bikini during a duet
with contestant Katrina 'Bikini Girl' Darrell - but she was terrified about
posing semi-nude in front of a U.S. television audience of 29 million people.
But they reached a compromise when producers agreed to write out a cheque
to the good cause of DioGuardi's choice.
She says, "One of the producers had this idea. I was like, 'That wouldn't
be too great. Me in a bikini onstage?'
"They had to bribe me by giving money to charity."

Indian Government Give Slumdog Child Stars New Homes
29 May 2009 12:00 PM, PDT
Slumdog Millionaire's young stars Azharuddin Ismail and Rubina Ali have been
offered new homes by the Indian government - just days after director Danny
Boyle purchased apartments for the child actors.
Boyle and the movie's producers plucked Ismail, 10, and Ali, nine, from impoverished
obscurity to appear in the Oscar-winning film and established the Jai Ho Trust
last year to help fund their education.
But the kids' plight has captured headlines in recent weeks after both children's
families were booted out of their homes and forced to live on the streets of
India by local authorities.
They had been homeless for weeks before Boyle flew into Mumbai this week (begs25May09)
and revealed he had bought Ismail a brand new apartment, with plans to do the
same for Ali.
And now India's chief minister, Congress party member Ashok Chavan, has waded
into the controversy - revealing both stars' families have already been alloted
new homes which will be ready in days.
A statement from Chavan reads, "The regional head of the Congress party
said these two child actors were talented but were living in the slums and
therefore should be given homes."
As WENN went to press, it was unknown whether the two families would have
to choose between the homes.

Suspended Labeouf Denies Car Crash Claims
29 May 2009 12:00 PM, PDT
Actor Shia Labeouf has slammed reports he was involved in a car accident in
California on Thursday, while he is banned from driving.
Comedian Jesse Coccoli claims Labeouf bumped the rear of her car at an intersection
in Los Feliz and stopped to exchange insurance information.
She tells Celebuzz.com, "I think I said, 'I can't believe you just hit
my car going two miles an hour,' and realised, it is him."
Coccoli claims the pair chatted and joked before going their separate ways.
But the Transformers star's representatives are accusing Coccoli of concocting
the story - insisting Labeouf was miles away at the time.
A spokesperson says, "This story is completely fabricated. Shia was in
Santa Monica with friends for the afternoon in question. This must be a clear
case of mistaken identity."
Labeouf lost his license after he refused to give a breath sample following
the Hollywood car crash that crushed his hand last year. The suspension ends
in January 2010.

Reeves Slams Child Support Lawsuit
29 May 2009 12:00 PM, PDT
Keanu Reeves has blasted a Canadian woman who alleges he fathered her four
children, insisting he has no idea who she is.
Karen Sala, 46, claims she's childhood friends with the Speed star and that
he is the father of her grown-up children.
She is taking legal action against the actor, demanding Reeves undergoes a
DNA test to prove he's her kids' dad in a bizarre bid to land $3 million (£2
million) a month in spousal support and another $150,000 (£100,000) in child
support.
Sala, who is representing herself in the lawsuit, further alleges she has
been trying to settle the matter "privately" with Reeves over the
years.
But Reeves, 44, has slammed the accusations.
His spokesperson says, "Karen Sala's allegations are completely false
and absurd. Mr. Reeves has no knowledge of who she is."
And the actor's business manager has warned media outlets against giving more
coverage to Sala's crazy claims, adding, "Before you disparage my client
and lend validity to this, there's clearly something wrong with someone who
claims child support after all the kids have grown. I'm just pointing that
out."

Woman Jailed For Stalking Idol Singer
29 May 2009 9:00 AM, PDT
A cyber-stalker has been jailed for more than two years for hacking into former
American Idol contestant Diana Degarmo's emails.
Tanya Quattrocchi, 23, pleaded guilty to four charges of stalking after she
was caught intercepting DeGarmo's personal communications and breaking into
her account on MySpace.com.
She also hacked into the email accounts of the singer's mum Brenda and a pal,
model Donielle Morris.
The Victoria County Court in Australia heard Quattrocchi, of Melbourne, was
sentenced to 150 hours of community service in 2007 for blackmailing DeGarmo
and stalking her over the Internet.
She was re-arrested in January this year after resuming her harassment campaign.
Sentencing Quattrocchi to 26 months in prison, Judge Lisa Hannan said DeGarmo
had been left feeling constantly vulnerable as a result of having her personal
communications hacked into.
DeGarmo came runner-up in the 2004 season of American Idol, and went on to
record an album and appear on Broadway in Hairspray.

Sandler Swears Off A Return To Stand-up
29 May 2009 9:00 AM, PDT
Adam Sandler has vowed never to perform stand-up comedy ever again - after
returning to his performing roots for new movie Funny People.
The star began his career at comedy clubs while he was studying at New York
University. He was eventually spotted by a talent scout and hired as a writer
on hit U.S. satirical show Saturday Night Live.
Sandler abandoned stand-up as his movie career took off, but returned to his
roots with a role in Judd Apatow's new film - playing a comic.
The funnyman was forced back on stage during the shoot to perform in front
of a live audience, and Sander admits the experience has put him off comedy
routines for life.
Apatow tells Empire magazine, "Adam hadn't done stand-up comedy for 12
years. We arrived unannounced at a lot of clubs around town and I remember
we were driving to one place and he just said, 'This is exactly why I don't
do this - I so do not want to do this!'"
And the moviemaker is disappointed by his pal's decision, because he is convinced
Sandler is a brilliant performer.
He adds, "Adam was one of the best stand-ups around. He has this gift
that no one remembers. He killed (was brilliant)."
Funny People is due to hit cinemas later this year.

Parker Inspires Co-star Nixon To Try Surrogacy
29 May 2009 9:00 AM, PDT
Expectant mum Sarah Jessica Parker has inspired her Sex And The City co-star
Cynthia Nixon to have a surrogate child of her own.
Parker and husband Matthew Broderick are expecting twins by a surrogate mother
this summer, after failing to conceive a brother or sister for six-year-old
son James Wilkie the natural way.
Friends claim Nixon, 43, is desperate to start a family with partner Christine
Marioni, and is looking into surrogacy herself.
A pal tells the National Enquirer, "Cynthia realises at her age the odds
of conceiving are slim.
"After a heart to heart with Sarah about the ins and outs of surrogacy
and how it works, Cynthia and Christine decided it's definitely a path worth
pursuing. Sarah put Cynthia in touch with the agency she used. Now Cynthia
and Christine are hoping for a baby in 2010."
Nixon has two children from a past relationship.

missed during a robbery in California nearly 15 years ago.

Fernando Valley. The robber demanded Rudd's wallet, and threatened to shoot
the actor unless he handed it over.

and a bullet whizzed through the star's hair - missing his skull by millimetres.
The gunman then grabbed the actor's backpack and fled.
Rudd recalls, "I just remember the sound of it. I remember people in
the parking lot being really freaked out. But I just got very calm."

Redmond, whose father is actor Ryan O'Neal, is currently undergoing intensive
drug treatment in a remote California prison, following his April arrest on

Richie: 'Rehab Brought My Parents Back Together'
29 May 2009 5:05 AM, PDT
Nicole Richie's stint in rehab did more than cure her addictions - the crisis
also brought her warring parents back together.
The socialite's adopted parents, singer Lionel Richie and mum Brenda, split
in 1988 when she was aged five. It was followed by a bitter divorce in 1993
which saw the superstar and his wife barely on speaking terms amid allegations
of the singer's infidelity.
Richie admits relations between her parents didn't begin to heal until she
was admitted to rehab in Arizona in 2003 to battle substance abuse problems.
And the Simple Life star is convinced worrying about their daughter revived
the bond between the former couple - who are now great friends.
Nicole Richie tells TV talk show host Larry King, "I think I was 20 when
they started talking. And they actually didn't start talking until I went to
rehab. Now they're best friends. And it's really great."

Wahlberg's Son Baptised
29 May 2009 5:05 AM, PDT
Mark Wahlberg and his fiancee Rhea Durham celebrated the baptism of their youngest
son with a church ceremony in Boston, Massachusetts last Sunday.
The couple planned the event at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Dorchester

The family, including the pair's older children Ella Rae, five, and Michael,
three, travelled from Los Angeles to the star's hometown for the baptism, which
was held at the same church where they paid their last respects to Wahlberg's
late father at his funeral last year.
The ceremony was attended by close friends and family, and saw Mark’s older
brother Robert Wahlberg named godfather.
A source tells Radar Online, "Mark’s dad loved his older kids, Ella Rae
and Michael. He didn’t live to meet Brendan so it was important for Mark to
take the baby to the church were his dad was eulogised. It was a very loving
and moving gesture on Mark’s part.”

Miller Terrified Of G.I. Guns
29 May 2009 1:00 AM, PDT
Sienna Miller doubted she would be able to play a convincing villain in G.I.
Joe: The Rise Of Cobra - because she couldn't bring herself to fire a gun
on the film set.
The actress was terrified of handling firearms for her role as femme fatale
The Baroness in the forthcoming movie, prompting producers to pull her aside
to ensure she was comfortable with the work.
She says, "It was scary. I got taken away from the group! They said,
'Sienna, you're a villain in this film and you look like you're terrified of
the gun.' And I said, 'I am!' We were shooting live ammunition that could kill
someone."

Richie: 'Madden Marriage Can Wait'
29 May 2009 1:00 AM, PDT
Pregnant socialite Nicole Richie has no plans to walk down the aisle with partner
Joel Madden anytime soon - because she feels her family unit is already complete.
The Simple Life star has a daughter, Harlow, with the Good Charlotte star
and, in February, the couple announced they are expecting another child.
And although Richie once dreamed of having kids after exchanging vows in a
fairytale ceremony, she insists marriage isn't a priority now - because she
already feels committed to Madden.
She tells U.S. talk show host Larry King, "Joel's family is actually
very Christian and Joel grew up very Christian, and even his idea when he was
little was, 'I'm going to get married and then I'm going to have kids'. (He
was) very programmed that that's the order that everything happens in.
"And of course, when I was a little girl, I dreamed about getting married
and that is definitely a dream of mine one day. But right now, we're really
really focused on our family, we're focused on our foundation. As far as feeling
that need of commitment, we both really have that in each other.
"I think for both of us, we are going to do it because we want to, not
because that's what you do."

Dennings' Parents Shocked By Sex Debut
28 May 2009 6:30 PM, PDT
Actress Kat Dennings' parents were left mortified when they hosted a TV party
to watch their daughter's acting break - because they had no idea how racy
Sex & The City was.
The young star was just 14 when she landed a part as a demanding Jewish teen
on a show she had never seen - and her folks decided to sign up for cable TV
just so they could see their daughter on screen.
Dennings recalls they invited family and friends round to watch the risque
episode, in which their daughter's character boasted about her oral sex skills

The actress says, "It was an explicit episode (with) Kyle MacLachlan
jerking off.
"My parents were like, 'Oh, Jesus Christ! Don't look.'"

As well as writing the book, Streisand will share photographs she has taken.
She says, "Designing and building for me is about the creative process

Graham Urges Women To Strip
28 May 2009 6:30 PM, PDT
Actress Heather Graham has urged women to get stripping - because the sexy
act is so empowering.
The Boogie Nights star plays an exotic dancer in new comedy The Hangover and
admits her pole dancing preparation was easy because she's had lessons before.
Graham is among Hollywood's hot ladies who have hooked up with actress and
stripper teacher Sheila Kelley for her famous S Factor pole dancing classes
- and now she's a regular.
She reveals, "I had taken this female empowerment class and Sheila Kelley
came in and talked about her classes. I had actually taken her classes because
my friend taught one of them. She worked at the Mayor's office and quit her
job to become a pole dancing instructor.
"For this film I went back and took some refresher courses. It's a dance
class but they teach you pole dancing moves and it reminded me how great it
is... It's for any kind of woman, women of all different ages and sizes.
"As a woman, it's inspiring because any woman can feel sexy and you're
cheering each other on. You're not doing it for like, 'Oh, just give me a tip.'
Usually people wear shorts and a tank top or a bra and you just cheer each
other on. You're doing it to feel good about yourself and see other women feel
good about themselves."
