Leachman Has Last Laugh After Dance Show
29 October 2008 3:03 PM, PDT
Oscar winner Cloris Leachman's Broadway career has been boosted by her appearance
on hit U.S. reality show Dancing With The Stars - producers have reportedly
reconsidered her for a role she was rejected for last year.
The 82-year-old star admitted she was "heartbroken" when she was
turned down to reprise her role on hit Broadway show Young Frankenstein - the
character she portrayed in the hit 1974 movie - due to fears over her age.
Producer Mel Brooks told Variety magazine at the time: "We're afraid
the show... could kill (Leachman)... We don't want her to die onstage."
Leachman was booted from Dancing With The Stars on Tuesday after weeks of
rigorous training in ballroom and Latin dance.
But Brooks has reportedly changed his mind despite her dismissal, impressed
by the star's stamina in the demanding numbers.
According to Broadway gossip site Billymasters.com: "Mel has reached
out to Leachman to see if they could make a deal - which I'm sure has nothing
to do with the show's somewhat soft box office."
A spokesperson for Leachman tells the New York Post: "Cloris has received
several interesting offers. We cannot confirm that Young Frankenstein is one
of them. For the time being, Cloris is focusing all her attention on dancing." |

Somerville Feared Death
29 October 2008 3:03 PM, PDT
Former Friends actress Bonnie Somerville feared she'd be killed by the man
who robbed her and an actor pal at gunpoint earlier this month.
Somerville, 34, and Walter Stewart were leaving an event on Sunset Boulevard
in Los Angeles on 18 October when they were confronted by a lone gunman.
The star began screaming as the assailant demanded she hand over her bag,
and a struggle ensued. A shot was fired, hitting Stewart in the back.
Speaking out for the first time since the incident, Somerville tells People
magazine: "We didn't know (he) had a gun; we wouldn't have struggled.
"(When he pointed the gun at me), my mum's face flashed in my head -
I thought I was going to die. I'm so lucky."
Somerville played Mona, one-time girlfriend of David Schwimmer's character
Ross Geller, in the hit TV series.

Olsen Book Signing Sparks Protest
29 October 2008 3:03 PM, PDT
A book-signing for fans of twin actresses Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen took an
ugly turn when they were bombarded by a legion of angry protestors wearing
mocking masks of the pair.
Fans lined up to meet the 22-year-old moguls, who were celebrating the release
of their new coffee table book, Influence, on Tuesday.
But the pair were stunned to find animal rights activists shouting outside
the event - part of a campaign launched by People for the Ethical Treatment
of Animals (PETA) against the stars for their fashion choices.
A PETA spokesperson tells WENN: "People who still wear fur haven.t woken
up to the fact that a big, dead animal on your back makes you look like a troll.
"Compassionate fashionistas know that real beauty comes from the heart
- something that the Trollsen Twins seem to lack, considering all the animals
they.ve killed for their clothes."

Leonardo DiCaprio has gathered a host of huge stars including Tom Cruise, Julia
Roberts, Justin Timberlake, Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg to star in
a new public service announcement urging Americans to go to the polls next
week (4Nov08).

Spielberg's request that they "don't vote" in Tuesday's presidential
election - his attempt at reverse psychology.
Roberts complains the request "doesn't make sense"; while Timberlake
replies, "I can do anything. I was in a boy band, Ok?"
Ford tells Spielberg, "You know what? I can't do it. It's not true, I
don't believe it - 537 people decided the 2000 election, and you want me to
tell people that one vote doesn't count?"

Trump Converting To Judaism?

Their recent reconciliation prompted reports Trump would abandon her own faith
to appease his Orthodox family.
And according to the New York Post, the former model has been diligently adopting
Jewish beliefs and practices, and has chosen New York's Upper East Side Rabbi
Haskel Lookstein to convert her to the religion.
A source tells the newspaper, "She and Jared were in shul (synagogue)

Ivanka has declined to comment on the reports.

Melrose Comeback Plans In Place
29 October 2008 12:12 PM, PDT
Popular 1990s soap opera Melrose Place is reportedly set to follow in the footsteps
of Beverly Hills, 90210 with a return to the small screen.
Bosses on the show - which launched the careers of Marcia Cross and Kristin
Davis - are working on an updated version of the series, according to E! Online.
The show ran from 1992 to 1999 and was notorious for its sensationalist storylines
and extravagant characters.
The move to bring it back comes after the Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off hit
screens in the U.S. in the summer. Both series were produced by late TV mogul
Aaron Spelling.
Former Melrose Place star Lisa Rinna has fuelled reports of a comeback, saying, "I've

Cook's Daughter 'Scared' By Seinfeld's Remarks
29 October 2008 12:12 PM, PDT
A chef who claims comedian Jerry Seinfeld's wife plagiarised her cookbook has
now accused the funnyman "scaring" her young daughter.
Chef Missy Chase Lapine sued Seinfeld's wife Jessica in January, claiming
Seinfeld's bestselling cookbook Deceptively Delicious had been "brazenly
plagiarised" from her own tome, The Sneaky Chef.
Both books describe how to hide healthy ingredients in children's food.
Seinfeld's subsequent appearance on U.S. TV show The Late Show with David
Letterman - where he joked, "Many of the three-named people do become
assassins" and called Lapine a "wacko" and "mentally unhinged
celebrity stalker" - prompted the chef to add a defamation charge against
the funnyman.
In federal court documents filed on Tuesday, Lapine says she "started
feeling scared" by the incident.
She adds: "I have never felt so frightened and vulnerable as the day
my daughter, seven years old, came home from school and asked, 'Mom, what is
an assassin?'
"I thought I made a big mistake talking to any reporters because now
this billionaire is angry and attacking me everywhere.
"I do not suffer from any mental infirmity. I am not a celebrity stalker.
I am not a violent or dangerous person."
Seinfeld's lawyers are vying to get the defamation suit against him dismissed,
insisting "mocking the litigious nature of society" is protected
by his First Amendment right to freedom of speech.

by before greeting the stars - including a "no pictures" rule.
The form warned: "Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen will be with us for
a limited time. They will only be signing copies of their book... They will
not be speaking, reading or taking questions.
"(The Olsens) will not sign any memorabilia or product other than Influence.
There is a limit of one book per person.
"There is no photography allowed. You must put away your camera or cellphone

Brand Quits Radio Show
29 October 2008 12:12 PM, PDT
Latest: British comedian Russell Brand has quit his job as a BBC radio presenter
following his controversial prank calls to actor Andrew Sachs.
During four calls, which were aired on Brand's Radio 2 show on 18 October,
he and fellow broadcaster Jonathan Ross recorded voicemail messages on Fawlty
Towers star Sachs' phone, in which they discussed Brand's fling with the 78-year-old's
granddaughter. The pair also joked about breaking into his house and molesting
him, although that dialogue was cut from the aired broadcast.
Sachs was outraged - along with thousands of listeners, who lodged complaints,
prompting the broadcaster to suspend the pair on Wednesday.
But Forgetting Sarah Marshall star Brand resigned later the same day, insisting
he takes "complete responsibility" for the incident.
A statement reads, "As I only do the radio show to make people laugh
I've decided that, given the subsequent coverage, I will stop doing the show.
"I got a bit caught up in the moment and forgot that, at the core of
the rude comments and silly songs, were the real feelings of a beloved and
brilliant comic actor and a very sweet and big-hearted young woman."

The actress, who is married to Michael Douglas, says: "I used to dress
down and try to look plain and frumpy. I thought I was supposed to look as
if I'd spent the night sleeping under a bridge in order for people to take
me seriously."

Double Divorcee Kurylenko Refuses To Rule Out Marriage
29 October 2008 9:14 AM, PDT
New Bond girl Olga Kurylenko has not ruled out marriage in the future - despite
having two divorces behind her at the age of 28.
The Ukrainian actress split from photographer Cedric Van Mol in 2003, after
four years of marriage. She went on to marry businessman Damian Gabrielle in
2006, but they divorced just one year later.
But Kurylenko insists she is open to getting married once again if she finds
the right person.
She says, "I have not been scarred by my two divorces. The important
thing is that I loved them - and you cannot regret loving.
"I am glad to have spent a part of my life with my two ex-husbands. If
I had to go back I would do it again. My divorces were not a sad experience.
It's just communication.
"People who surround us in our life exchange more and more experiences
with us. I learned I had differences from them and they were different people
from me.
"My ex-husbands were different nationalities but were both very interesting
people. I don't see divorce as a failure. I see it as the end to a story."

Swayze: 'I Thought I Was De Niro'
29 October 2008 9:14 AM, PDT
Actor Patrick Swayze rejected countless TV roles before he signed up to star
in forthcoming series The Beast - because he considered television a step-down
for a Hollywood movie star.
The Ghost actor is scheduled to continue filming the show until November of
this year.
But he admits it took years of convincing to return to the small screen after
his success in blockbuster films.
He tells the New York Times, "I thought I was (Robert) De Niro... If
I'm going to do television, I wanted that (1985 mini-series) North and South
experience. I wanted something that.s going to challenge me on a constant basis.
"To be honest, I've made a game out of trying to live through my James
Dean, Janis Joplin, Freddie Prinze, Jim Morrison period, those demons that
we all have that we're either successful or not at making (it) work for us
rather than destroy us..

Biel 'Screwed Up' Over Nude Pics

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre star, 26, was persuaded to pose for the racy pictures

But she admits she now rues agreeing to the photo shoot.
She says, "It was supposed to show me being sexier and more mature. The
idea was: Look at me- I am a woman, growing up. I had male managers at the
time, who were really excited about the photo shoot.
"The truth is, though, I was in way over my head. I remember calling
my dad and saying: 'I screwed up. I went too far and did not stand up for myself.'"

Leary Apologises For Autism Comments
29 October 2008 9:14 AM, PDT
Actor-turned-author Denis Leary has apologised for his scathing remarks against
children suffering with autism - insisting his quotes were taken out of context
by the media.
The Rescue Me sparked outrage among activists for young autism sufferers when
an excerpt from his book Why We Suck: A Feel-Good Guide to Staying Fat, Loud,
Lazy and Stupid was printed in a U.S. newspaper earlier this month.
In the book, Leary claims some parents use the brain development disorder
as an excuse to explain their children's "laziness", and blames the
surge in autism on "inattentive mothers and competitive dads".
But Leary has taken a step back since landing in hot water over the remarks.
He tells the Boston Herald, "I apologise for any pain the out-of-context
quotes from my book may have caused."

Cyrus Fears Another Photo Leak
29 October 2008 9:14 AM, PDT
Miley Cyrus has reportedly become "a nervous wreck" after the FBI
raided the home of a hacker who allegedly leaked candid photos of the star
on the internet - because she fears he's passed on her personal information
to someone else.
Federal agents raided the Tennessee home of Josh Holly last week (beg20Oct08),
seizing computer equipment from the 19-year-old.
Holly became a prime suspect in the federal investigation after police learned
he had allegedly bragged to pals about unlocking the Hannah Montana star's
email account and flooding the internet with racy snaps of her.
And Cyrus is reportedly terrified that more personal information will be made
public despite the government's involvement.
A source tells the National Enquirer, "She used that email account on
a daily basis to send (former boyfriend) Nick (Jonas) and several of her friends
photos and letters. And there were several other accounts Miley used for emails,
so she's not exactly sure what Holly gained access to - and that's what so
deeply troubling to her... The whole thing is making Miley a nervous wreck."

Kurylenko Defends 'Artistic' Topless Photos
29 October 2008 5:12 AM, PDT
Actress Olga Kurylenko is unfazed that topless photos of her during her youth
have surfaced - because they were taken "artistically".
A series of half-naked snaps of the new Bond girl, 28, have emerged since
she was cast in Quantum of Solace, but Kurylenko is not bothered by the photos,
insisting they are not "unusual".
She says, "There are no actresses who haven't appeared naked. These things
are not unusual.
"All the magazine pictures are artistic. I didn't do any pornography.
It was all done in silhouette. It was advertising stuff.
"It's something I have done but it's not what I enjoy doing. It was part

Movies are my passion.
"I always have respect towards people and I do everything with love and
respect. There are much graver things in the world to worry about."

The View Denies Hasselbeck + Behar Are At War
29 October 2008 5:12 AM, PDT
A representative for hit U.S. daytime show The View has been forced to deny
rumours of an off-set feud between co-hosts Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Joy
Behar.
The relationship between the pair - famed for their heated on-air debates
over their political views - has reportedly become so strained that they have
been involved in screaming matches backstage.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the animosity between the pair "has
gotten so ugly, they only speak on air or when a camera is anywhere in their
vicinity".
The rumours stem from the pair's angry conversations about the forthcoming
U.S. presidential elections. Hasselbeck is a staunch Republican and John McCain
supporter, while Behar is backing Democratic candidate Barack Obama.
But a spokesperson for the popular ABC programme refutes the claims, insisting
rumours of a feud between the two hosts have been around since they started
the show.
The representative tells Usmagazine.com, "These fabricated rumors about
alleged dissention between Elisabeth and Joy are as untrue today as they were
yesterday, a week ago and when the rumour(s) first started."
The denial comes just days after fellow co-host Whoopi Goldberg revealed Hasselbeck
receives death threats from angry anti-Republican viewers.

Farrell 'Pained' By Alexander Flop
29 October 2008 5:12 AM, PDT
Actor Colin Farrell has opened up about box-office blunder Alexander four years
after its release - insisting he's just getting over his disappointment at
the movie flop.
Farrell played the ancient Greek conqueror in the 2004 Oliver Stone flick,
which co-starred Angelina Jolie and Val Kilmer.
The film made a mere fourth of its reported $155 million (GBP98.7million)
budget back at the U.S. box-office, adding to the actor's stress from movie
critics who were disappointed with his performance.
Farrell confesses: "Alexander hurt, you know - and again people are going
to say 'Get over it, you were well-paid' and all that. But Alexander hurt.
"The response that it got was really painful and all of us got a really
hard time, and I didn't come across too well either in the majority of reviews
and even with the audiences - people did not respond to it.
"It was a film that was made to be seen by many people. Not many people
saw it and they weren't particularly fond of it, and that was s**t, it was
really s**t... I took it to heart. I felt like I had let a lot of people down,
I felt like I had disappointed a lot of people ... And it took a while to get
over that."
And the star admits he's just starting to recover from the backlash, adding: "I
probably got a bit disillusioned after that. I think only in the last couple
of years starting with (new film) Pride and Glory has that disillusionment
ceased to be something that is still present in my life regarding the work."

Francis Brands Ronson 'Disgusting' On U.S. TV
29 October 2008 5:12 AM, PDT
Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis has launched a bitter attack against Lindsay
Lohan's DJ girlfriend Samantha Ronson - branding her a "disgusting human
being".
A war of words erupted between the pair after Ronson slammed Francis for allegedly
ignoring her while chatting to her Mean Girls partner at the MTV Video Music
Awards last month.
Ronson claims that when Francis approached Lohan at the Los Angeles event
he looked at her "as if I wasn't a human being" - insisting Francis
has "no manners".
And Francis has hit back against the star during an appearance on America's
The Tyra Banks Show, insisting he didn't understand why the pair were together
and alleging Lohan isn't even "gay".
He told chatshow host Tyra Banks, "(Ronson is) very jealous. Samantha
tried to start a fight with me. I care about Lindsay - she's not gay. She's
being controlled by this... wretched woman, this Samantha."
But the actress has now hit back in the row.
She wrote on her official blog, "Joe Francis has no place in saying anything
about Samantha... especially after all the s**t he has done."

BBC Suspends Brand + Ross After Controversial Radio Show
29 October 2008 5:12 AM, PDT
Latest: British comedian Russell Brand and broadcaster Jonathan Ross have
been suspended over their prank phone calls to Fawlty Towers legend Andrew
Sachs.
The BBC has taken all of the pair's shows off air until the corporation has
investigated the calls, made during Brand's Radio 2 show.
The duo provoked outrage by leaving a series of crude phone messages for Sachs,
in which they claimed Brand had slept with the actor's granddaughter Georgina,
during show on 18 October.
Exotic dancer Georgina has since hit out at Brand in Britain's The Sun newspaper,
calling for the funnyman to be sacked over the incident - and more than 18,000
people have complained to U.K. broadcasting regulator Ofcom.
The BBC's director general Mark Thompson announced the pair had been suspended
on Wednesday and apologised unreservedly for the "completely unacceptable" broadcast.
Thompson says, "This is not a marginal case. It's clear from the views
expressed by the public that this broadcast has caused severe offence and I
share that view.
"This gross lapse of taste by the performers and the production team
has angered licence payers."
The announcement comes after Prime Minster Gordon Brown condemned the duo
for the broadcast.

Hudson Suspect 'Was Freed By Judge'
29 October 2008 5:12 AM, PDT
The prime suspect in the murders of Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew
was arrested for drug possession in June - but was reportedly set free by
a judge.
William Balfour is currently being quizzed by police over the slayings of
Darnell Donerson, Jason Hudson, and seven year old Julian King in Chicago,
Illinois.
And it has emerged he was held by cops for allegedly possessing cocaine earlier
this year, but was freed after a judge dismissed the charge for lack of probable
cause.
Legal experts claim the arrest itself could have been enough to put Balfour
back behind bars for months, because it violated a previous probation order.
Under U.S. law, criminal charges can result in parolees being returned to
prison even if the counts are ultimately dropped.
In Balfour's case, he could have been sent back to jail for the remainder
of his parole - which is due to end in May 2009. With good behaviour, he would
have been released in December.
Dreamgirls Oscar-winner Hudson's mother Darnell and brother Jason were gunned
down at their home in Chicago on Friday. Her nephew, Julian King, was missing
for three days after the slayings. His body was discovered in a car in the
city on Monday.

Alt Just Wants 'Fair' Deal From Lawsuit With Ex
29 October 2008 12:46 AM, PDT
Actress/model Carol Alt felt betrayed by ex-husband Ron Greschner when he allegedly
cheated her out of an investment made during their marriage, because he was
so "lovely".
The 47-year-old is suing professional hockey player Greschner for $9 million
(GBP5.7 million) after claiming that she was cut out of her share of an $18
million (GBP11.5 million) profit from a water filtration business venture they
entered into as a married couple.
She alleges his failure to share the cash with her was in violation of the
terms of their divorce settlement.
Alt took the stand at a New York federal court on Tuesday when she told of
the love she had for Greschner during their 18-year marriage.
She told Judge Colleen McMahon, "I love Ronnie always. He was lovely
with me. I had no reason to worry... He was the most important person in my
adult life."
But Alt added that strained relations led to Greschner hiding the profit from
his ex.
She recalled asking Greschner to "be fair" when they discussed money
following their separation in 1997. She told him: "My career's on the
way down. Can you just be fair?"
The water filtration business was sold in 1998, and Greschner claims he doesn't
owe Alt a penny because all the profits were swallowed by taxes.
The judge is due to deliver her verdict on Wednesday.

Sachs' Granddaughter Blasts Brand, Calls For Ex-Lover To Be Fired
29 October 2008 12:46 AM, PDT
Latest: The granddaughter of Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs at the centre
of a BBC radio row has confessed to sleeping with controversial comedian
Russell Brand.
Brand and U.K. chatshow host Jonathan Ross provoked outrage by leaving a series
of crude phone messages for Sachs, in which they claimed Brand had slept with
the actor's granddaughter Georgina.
Brand has since apologised for the stunt, which was pre-recorded and aired
during his show on BBC Radio 2 on 18 October.
But now 23-year-old Georgina has broken her silence on the scandal - lambasting
Brand for bragging about their sexual encounters in 2006 to her 78-year-old
grandfather.
She says, "What's funny about humiliating a lovely old man who has never
harmed anyone in his life?
"My grandfather is really upset and says he wants the whole situation
to end. It has been awful for him."
And Georgina is contemplating getting the police involved - because she feels "betrayed" by
Brand.
She adds, "I will be speaking to (my grandfather) to ask whether we should
complain to the police and we'll be making the decision as a family.
"We're very close and I can't tell you how much it hurts to know they
were so unkind to such a sweet person. They should at least pay for what they've
done with their jobs."
Speaking about her brief relationship with Brand, she says, "It was never
going to be a serious relationship but I felt I could trust him as a friend.
I haven't seen him since early this year and assumed he was in the past because
I've... moved on.
"But now he has done this I feel totally and utterly exposed and betrayed.
What happened between us was supposed to be private but he is clearly no gentleman."

Cantone: 'Hudson Will Be Stronger After Tragedies'
29 October 2008 12:46 AM, PDT
Jennifer Hudson's Sex And The City co-star Mario Cantone is confident the singer/actress
will bounce back from the brutal murders of her mother, brother and nephew,
because she's "just phenomenal".
The star's mum Darnell Donerson and brother Jason Hudson were found shot dead
at their home in Chicago, Illinois on Friday, while the body of her seven-year-old
nephew Julian King was found in the back of an abandoned SUV in the city on
Monday.
Cantone admits he was rocked by the tragic news, and his thoughts are with
Hudson as she mourns her loved ones.
He tells MTV, "Here she is - she's so sweet and lovely, she's brilliant,
her album is on the top of the charts - and then this happens. I feel so awful
for her. I just can't imagine what she's going through.
"If she wants to throw herself into her work, great. If she doesn't,
she shouldn't. She should do what she needs to do and not let anybody tell
her what to do. I just hope she takes all the time she needs and surrounds
herself with everyone who loves her so that she can get through this in her
own way and in her own time."
And Cantone is sure Hudson will emerge a stronger person from the tragedy
- and he can't wait to work with her again one day "because she's just
phenomenal".
He adds, "I hope, if we do the (Sex and the City) sequel, she'll be a
part of it. There's time. It's still early, and I'm hoping that happens, because
that would be nice. I just can't wait until she's ready to come back and sing
for all of us."
Police have arrested William Balfour - the estranged husband of Hudson's sister
Julia - in connection with the slayings, but he has yet to be charged.

International Arrest Warrant Issued For Caruso 'Stalker'
29 October 2008 12:46 AM, PDT
The search for an Austrian woman accused of stalking CSI: Miami star David
Caruso has gone global - Austrian authorities have issued an international
arrest warrant for her.
The unnamed 41-year-old - whose identity is protected under the country's
privacy laws - was due to stand trial in April for stalking and threatening
to kill Caruso at a court in Innsbruck.
The woman failed to show up to court and a judge subsequently issued a warrant
for her arrest.
She has been missing ever since - and now Judge Guenther Boehler has taken
the search to an international level, according to Innsbruck Provincial Court
spokesman Thomas Lechner.
The woman is alleged to have bombarded Caruso with more than 100 letters in
her attempt to get the TV star's autograph. But when her repeated requests
were snubbed, the suspect reportedly threatened the life of Caruso and his
then-girlfriend Lisa Marquez in another letter.
A 2007 letter posted to the actor, said to be from the suspect, read: "I
will locate you and your ugly Latina tramp and kill you."
The suspect now faces up to three years behind bars if she is found guilty
under Austria's stalking laws, as well as the possibility of additional prison
time for eluding justice.

Phoenix Quits Acting
29 October 2008 12:46 AM, PDT
Oscar nominee Joaquin Phoenix is retiring from Hollywood - at the age of 34.
The Walk The Line star announced his plans to move away from acting at a fundraiser
for late actor Paul Newman's children's charity on Monday.
Phoenix will instead focus on his budding music career.
He told Extra, "I want to take this opportunity... also to give you the
exclusive and just talk a little bit about the fact that this will be my last
performance as an actor... I'm not doing films anymore.
"I'm working on my music. I'm done. I've been through that."
And the news has been confirmed by his representative, who says, "That
is what he told me."
Phoenix's brother-in-law Casey Affleck, who is married to Summer Phoenix,
insists the star is for real: "I don't think he's kidding. He's got music
and stuff."
Phoenix has made just one movie this year - romantic drama Two Lovers with
Gwyneth Paltrow.
His vocal skills were applauded in 2005 when he recorded the soundtrack for
the Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line. His efforts won him a Grammy award, and
he is now working on an album with British rocker Tim Burgess from The Charlatans.

Beckham To Run New York Marathon
29 October 2008 12:46 AM, PDT
Slimline star Victoria Beckham is reportedly set to follow in her best pal
Katie Holmes' footsteps and run the New York Marathon.
The former Spice Girl has allegedly been training in secret for the event
in the Big Apple this Sunday.
Holmes completed the run in five hours, 29 minutes and 58 seconds.
And now Beckham is set to take on the same feat.
A source tells Britain's Now magazine, "It was meant to be a big secret.
She's been training for months with the main goal of running in the New York
marathon.
"But, if she doesn't feel ready, she's planning to do the one in Los
Angeles in February next year."
Beckham's soccer ace husband David has reportedly been giving her fitness
tips to get the singer-turned-designer into shape.
And the couple has put plans to expand their family on hold for the time being
so Beckham can achieve her goal.
The insider adds, "She wants to get the run out of the way because once
she gets pregnant it'll be ages before she has the opportunity again."
The Beckhams are parents to Brooklyn, nine; Romeo, six; and Cruz, three.

Ritchie Turns Down Madonna's First Divorce Offer
29 October 2008 12:46 AM, PDT
Madonna's estranged husband Guy Ritchie has reportedly snubbed a $31 million
(GBP20 million) offer from the pop superstar to settle their divorce out
of court.
The pair announced earlier this month that they are to divorce following seven-and-a-half
years of marriage.
They have been locked in divorce negotiations ever since - but director Ritchie
is allegedly refusing to settle without a fight.
A source says, "Guy is certainly not going to accept the first offer
- GBP20 million is a lot of cash, but not in their world."
Madonna's fortune is estimated at a staggering $468 million (GBP300 million).
The former couple is also at odds over their custody plans. Madonna is said
to be planning to move to New York with their son Rocco, eight, adopted son
David, and Lourdes, 12, the singer's daughter from a previous relationship
- while Ritchie wants them to remain close to his London home.

Gervais To Host U.S. Chat Show?
28 October 2008 6:40 PM, PDT
British comic Ricky Gervais has been offered his own U.S. chat show - but will
only take the job on his terms.
The Ghost Town star insists he will only take on the role if he is allowed
to decide on the topics of conversation.
He tells Britain's Star magazine, "I've actually been offered a chat
show in America. I'd do it but I wouldn't want it to be current affairs and
I wouldn't want it to be based around people plugging stuff."
But the actor still doubts he will be able to seriously compete as a TV presenter.
He adds, "People already think I'm trespassing when I do a drama, so
I don't think they could take me being a presenter or chat show host."

Efron Startled By Persistent Fans
28 October 2008 6:40 PM, PDT
Heart-throb Zac Efron finds his sexy status a burden because he is constantly
trailed by hoards of adoring fans.
The High School Musical hunk, 21, is astonished at the lengths some of his
fans will go to in pursuit of an autograph.
He tells Britain's Heat magazine, "One time I went into a men's restroom
and a girl just followed me in.
"I wrote an autograph for her on the sink. It was pretty funny because
she was in a guy's restroom and she wasn't ashamed at all. I give her credit
for it."
One enamoured teen took things even further while Efron shopped for DVDs.
He adds, "This 15-year-old fan gave me a hug, like a big ole bear hug
from behind! I was sort of taken by surprise and I said, 'Wow, thank you, that's
awesome.'"
But the girl was not to be deterred, and she pursued Efron, planting a kiss
on his lips: "I pulled away and I was like, 'Whoa! Thank you...I'll see
you guys soon...' It was pretty bad."

Perry Denies Diva Demands
28 October 2008 6:40 PM, PDT
Movie mogul Tyler Perry has brushed off reports he demands co-workers to call
him by his last name if they want a response - insisting the moniker is used
by the cast and crew out of "respect".
The 39-year-old actor/director has come under fire for his inflated ego on
the set of his U.S. TV sitcom Tyler Perry's House of Payne, created and produced
by the star since 2006.
A source tells the New York Post: "Tyler makes everyone on his staff
- the crew and cast - call him 'Mr. Perry' to his face. He won't respond to
anyone who calls him Tyler."
But his spokesperson insists the reports are made up, adding: "That's
totally preposterous. I call him Tyler. Some people do call him 'Mr. Perry,'
but it's out of respect."

28 October 2008 6:40 PM, PDT

sister Mary-Kate into media moguls - because they let them sneak into meetings
at a young age.
The 22-year-olds began filming their first starring roles in U.S. TV series
Full House at nine-months-old before launching a media empire with the start
of their company Dualstar in 1993.
Ashley says, "There's a very specific language with financing and things
like that. We definitely have a different perspective on running a business."
The pair was ranked among the world's richest women in entertainment, earning
an estimated $100 million (GBP63.7 million) last year, according to Forbes
magazine.

Spears Put Under Father's Permanent Conservatorship
28 October 2008 6:40 PM, PDT
Britney Spears is to remain under her father's conservatorship on a permanent
basis, a Los Angeles judge has ruled.
Jamie Spears was put in charge of the singer's estate and personal affairs
in February following her public meltdown.
The conservatorship was originally due to end on 31 December - but Los Angeles
Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz ruled on Tuesday that Jamie will stay
on indefinitely as co-conservator, with attorney Andrew Wallet.
The decision comes after Spears' lawyers put forward the motion.
Her court-appointed attorney Samuel Ingham told the judge: "I've met
several times with (Britney) and she requested that I not object to the permanent
conservatorship."
Goetz concluded that the permanent conservatorship was "necessary and
appropriate for the complexity of financial and business entities and her being
susceptible to undue influence".
It is claimed that Spears hopes the move will help her to regain custody of
her two children with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
