Hulk Versus Avengers?
22 October 2008 12:05 PM, PDT
Marvel president Kevin Feige is looking to pit The Incredible Hulk against
the Avengers in an upcoming movie - with the green monster as the villain.
The studio head admits there are no plans as yet for a sequel to this year's
The Incredible Hulk, which starred Edward Norton, but he would love to tie
in Dr. Bruce Banner's alter ego into the new Avengers project.
He tells MTV, "Here's the thing - it is all in the planning stages, but
certainly if you look back to any number of Hulk comics, or Avengers comics,
or The Ultimates comics or the Ultimate Avengers DVD that we released, it certainly
makes a hell of a sequence.
"To have all of the Avengers going up against a green goliath? I think
that would be very cool to see that on the screen."

Crawford Takes Big-screen Inspiration From DiCaprio
22 October 2008 12:05 PM, PDT
Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford hopes to follow in the footsteps of actor Leonardo
DiCaprio - by carving out a career in "edgy" movies.
The TV hunk wants to pursue a serious acting career and is keen for people
to focus on his on-screen abilities instead of his matinee idol looks.
And Crawford has taken inspiration from DiCaprio, who didn't let his teen
idol image stand in the way of big-screen credibility.
He tells the America's VMan magazine, "I want to do the edgy independent
movies, like DiCaprio did, but you have to balance it out. It's about carving
out your leading-man role."
And the star is hoping to take on Hollywood's most revered actors - listing
parts made famous by Brad Pitt and Kevin Spacey as his dream jobs.
He adds, "Fight Club? Yes! X-Men? Yes! All sorts of different films.
American Beauty? Yes! I don't know if I could pull off a Kevin Spacey, but
I'll try!"

Gibson Funds His Church With $10 Million-a-year Handouts
22 October 2008 12:05 PM, PDT
Mel Gibson donates a staggering $10 million (GBP5.88million) each year to the
conservative Catholic sect he founded, financial reports reveal.
Paperwork obtained by Foxnews.com shows business is booming at the Holy Family
Catholic Church, which is now worth $42 million (GBP24.7 million) - thanks
to a $9.89 million (GBP5.8 million) hand-out from Gibson in 2007, and a similar
one the previous year.
Money given to the church, which Gibson built on his Malibu, California estate
- and boasts just 100 members - is all tax free.
Gibson's strong religious beliefs have been called into question in the past.
His 2004 movie The Passion of the Christ was accused of encouraging anti-Semitism;
and then in 2006 he fired off an anti-Semitic rant at police officers following
his arrest for driving under the influence (DUI).

but there was a message left on her voicemail from the automated operator.

Jennifer Aniston's representative has denied rumours the actress is expecting
her first child - telling the press to "give her a break".
Following U.K. and Australian tabloid reports claiming the former Friends

The speculation stems from recent reports stating the star has reconciled
with ex-boyfriend John Mayer.
The pair has been snapped together on numerous occasions in recent weeks,
and even spent Mayer's 31st birthday together in Los Angeles.
They split in August after a short romance.
But Aniston's publicist has vehemently denied the rumours, telling Usweekly.com, "Give

Duff's School Visit To Help Needy Kids
22 October 2008 9:17 AM, PDT
Actress/singer Hilary Duff has given her backing to a campaign to ensure students
from low-income families don't go hungry.
The 20-year-old visited an elementary school in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Tuesday
to promote the Blessings in a Backpack programme.
The campaign provides needy children with bags full of food so they have plenty
to eat for an entire weekend.
It was launched to ensure youngsters from struggling families have a balanced
diet to improve their performance in the classroom.
Duff says, "I feel lucky enough to have a voice or a name that people
might pay attention to.
"I think that people might not be aware that a couple neighbourhoods
away, kids aren't having food on the weekends, and we just want people to be
informed and to know what's going on in their communities and to help if they
can."

Crawford: 'I Won't Play Teen Hunk Ever Again'
22 October 2008 9:17 AM, PDT
Chace Crawford has vowed never to play a similar role to his high-school jock
character in Gossip Girl - because he is terrified of being typecast.
The actor shot to international stardom as handsome rich kid Nate Archibald
in the hit U.S. series, and has quickly become one of Hollywood's leading teen
idols.
But the star insists he has what it takes to last in the industry - and won't
rely on his good looks to land roles.
He tells America's VMan magazine, "There are a lot of adverse effects
of being a certain type, which I am.
"Look, I wouldn't be in the business if I didn't feel I had what it takes
to have longevity. Everyone has a certain castability, or quality they're always
going to have to fight."
And Crawford believes he has the key to success - reinvention.
He adds: "I think the best remedy is to reinvent yourself. I'm not going
to take the same type of role in the future."

Al Fayed 'Questioned Over Sex Assault'
22 October 2008 9:17 AM, PDT
The father of Diana, Princess Of Wales' boyfriend Dodi Fayed was questioned
by police over allegations of indecent assault against a 15-year-old female.
Business tycoon Mohamed Al Fayed, owner of London's most exclusive department
store Harrods, attended a west London police station on Wednesday to be quizzed
in relation to claims of a sex attack on a teenager earlier this year.
No arrests have been made in connection to the alleged assault, and police
confirm their investigations are continuing.
A Scotland Yard spokesperson says, "We can confirm that a man attended
a west London police station by prior arrangement and was questioned under
caution this morning.
"The man was questioned in relation to an allegation of sexual assault
on a girl under 16 at a business premises in central London. The allegation
was received in May 2008."
Fayed made international news earlier this year following his testimony at
the inquest into the 1997, Paris car crash which killed Diana and his son Dodi,
after he claimed the two were assassinated by British security services acting
on the orders of Prince Philip, the husband of British monarch Queen Elizabeth
II.
The jury ruled the couple died as a result of the gross negligence of their
driver Henri Paul and the pursuing paparazzi.

Lucas Marriage Dissolved
22 October 2008 9:17 AM, PDT
Little Britain comic Matt Lucas has ended his marriage to his partner of five
years - their divorce has been finalised by a London court.
The funnyman was granted a dissolution of his relationship with TV researcher
Kevin McGee at court on Wednesday on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour.
The pair split in June.
Lucas and McGee wed in a lavish civil partnership ceremony in London in 2006,
which was attended by rocker Sir Elton John and Lucas' comedy sidekick David
Walliams.
Court records have not disclosed any details of the unreasonable behaviour
which kickstarted the dissolution, but documents stated it was continuing,
according to the BBC.
The former couple is slated to be the first gay celebrity couple to "divorce" since
same-sex marriage was introduced in the U.K. in 2004.

McTiernan Closer To Changing Guilty Plea
22 October 2008 9:17 AM, PDT
Die Hard director John McTiernan is one step closer to changing his guilty
plea over his involvement in a Hollywood wiretapping scandal, after winning
a court hearing on Tuesday.
The filmmaker was fined $100,000 (GBP57,800) and sentenced to four months
in jail last September for lying to FBI agents investigating disgraced private
detective Anthony Pellicano, who was charged with more than 100 counts of wiretapping
and racketeering.
McTiernan initially told the FBI he'd only hired Pellicano once, during his
divorce. He later revealed that he'd employed the detective's services on another
occasion to keep tabs on producer Charles Roven, after they worked together
on 2002's Rollerball.
But he has since claimed he had inadequate legal representation when he made
the plea, and on Tuesday, the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco,
California ruled a lower court must consider his motion to rescind his plea.
A similar motion was dismissed by a U.S. district court judge last year.
The case will now be put before a Los Angeles district court, where a judge
will determine whether McTiernan should be allowed to withdraw his plea.
And McTiernan's new attorney, S. Todd Neal, is satisfied with the latest development.
He says, "In our view, this is a charge that never should have been filed."
Pellicano was convicted on federal charges of wiretapping a number of celebrities,
including Steven Seagal, Tom Cruise and Chris Rock, in August. He faces up
to 10 years behind bars, along with a $500,000 (GBP289,000) fine when he is
sentenced on 17 November.

Beckhams To Quit U.S. Within Months?
22 October 2008 9:17 AM, PDT
Soccer ace David Beckham and his former Spice Girl wife Victoria are set to
quit America - less than 18 months after they arrived in Los Angeles.
The celebrity couple moved from Europe to California to a rapturous reception
in July 2007 as Beckham transferred from Spanish football club Real Madrid
to L.A. Galaxy.
Beckham and the singer-turned-designer have often spoken of their love of
the U.S. and how their three sons - Brooklyn, nine, Romeo, seven, and three
year old Cruz - adore living there.
But reports suggest the family could be heading back to Europe within months
amid claims Beckham is set to sign on for Italian soccer side AC Milan in January.
The club's vice-president Adriano Galliani has reportedly said: "Beckham
wants to train and play with Milan. We want him. He will arrive in January
and we will sign him. It's not just a shop-window deal, it's a great deal."

Simpson Auctioneer Sues Dr. Phil
22 October 2008 9:17 AM, PDT
An auctioneer caught up in the O.J. Simpson hotel heist is suing U.S. TV personality
Dr. Phil for defamation and fraud after appearing on his show earlier this
month.
Simpson was found guilty on all 12 counts in his kidnapping and armed robbery
trial on 3 October, stemming from a heist he took part in at the Palace Station
Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas last year.
Thomas Riccio, who arranged the meeting between Simpson and sports memorabilia
collector Bruce Fromong on that fateful night, agreed to be interviewed by
Philip 'Dr. Phil' McGraw for the programme about the incident.
The interview was recorded on 6 October and aired on U.S. TV two days later
- but Riccio is furious with the results, claiming footage was edited to alter
the meaning of his words.
Riccio, who testified against Simpson in the trial, is particularly incensed
at being referred to as "the shady deal maker", "a puppet master
who would sell his soul for a coin", and "the ring leader of this
crime".
He is also accusing McGraw of falsely claiming that he "set O.J. Simpson
up and told people to bring guns into the room", insisting his denials
were cut from the final interview and instead replaced with footage of him
nodding, appearing to agree with the host.
Riccio is also seeking compensation from McGraw and production company Stage
29 Media for the emotional distress of being portrayed in a false light. His
lawsuit further states: "Had plaintiff been aware of defendants' intent
and their intended actions, he would not have agreed to do the interview."
Simpson, 61, and his co-defendant Clarence Stewart, are currently being held
in a Las Vegas jail where they face life imprisonment when they are sentenced
on 5 December.

Tony Curtis Reaches Out To End Rift With Daughter Jamie Lee
22 October 2008 7:03 AM, PDT
Tony Curtis wants to end the long feud with his actress daughter Jamie Lee
Curtis - but insists she has no reason to hate him.
The Hollywood veteran is convinced Jamie Lee is still angry about his split
from her actress mother Janet Leigh, back in 1962.
But Curtis insists he supported his ex-wife and daughter financially, for
long after the divorce, and always gave the 49-year-old True Lies actress attention
and affection.
Curtis, 83, tells the National Enquirer, "Perhaps (it's because of) the
abrupt way I left her mother and her growing up when I wasn't around.
"I have nothing to be ashamed of with Jamie. I did the best I could.
I gave her my affection and caring without making a big deal about it."
And he insists it's now up to Jamie Lee to reach out and reconcile, adding, "What
am I going to do. God bless her, I wish her the best. If she can't forgive
me, then get another father."

Takei: 'I Did Invite Shatner To My Wedding.'
22 October 2008 7:03 AM, PDT
Actor George Takei has taken issue with former Star Trek co-star William Shatner
over a bitter video the latter has posted online.
Shatner poked fun at his former castmate's decision to 'come out' as a gay
man, and called Takei "sad" and "sick" for not inviting
him to his same-sex marriage ceremony last month.
In the video, posted on YouTube.com, the acting icon said, "The whole
thing makes me feel badly. The poor man, there's such a sickness there. It's
so patently obvious that there's a psychosis there.
"I literally don't know him... but he's continued to speak badly about
me for all these years. You'd think there would be an epiphany at some point
where George might have said, 'Poor Bill Shatner, he is such a lonely, desperate,
unhappy man that he did all these terrible things to me...' when I said hello
or something... but instead what he does is he makes this big deal about not
inviting me to his wedding."
But Takei insists he did invite Shatner to his wedding, stating, "It
is unfortunate that Bill was unable to join us for our wedding as he indeed
was invited to attend."
A spokesman for Takei adds, "Mr. Shatner was invited to the wedding (through
his manager Larry Thompson) when invitations were mailed out in July. In June,
when George Takei and Brad Altman received their license to marry, there was
media speculation that Mr. Shatner would not be invited to the wedding, yet
invitations had not been sent out at that time.
"On July 21, after the invitations had been mailed, Mr. Takei and Mr.
Altman were interviewed on TV Guide Channel's Watercooler programme and Mr.
Takei first broke the exclusive news: 'Most of the invitations have been sent
out, and Bill is amongst them'."

Craig: 'Obama Would Make The Best Bond'
22 October 2008 7:03 AM, PDT
Daniel Craig has given U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama a big boost
two weeks ahead of America's big election by insisting the Democrat would
make a better James Bond than his opponent John McCain.
The British action man admits he's fascinated by the lead up to the election
on 4 November - and he likes both candidates. But, if he had to choose, he's
adamant Obama would be a better Bond than ageing prisoner of war McCain.
He tells U.S. magazine Parade, "Obama would be the better Bond, because,
if he's true to his word, he'd be willing to quite literally look the enemy
in the eye and go toe-to-toe with them."
But McCain wouldn't be left out of Craig's political Bond film - the actor
insists the Republican would make a good M.
He explains, "McCain, because of his long service and experience, would
probably be a better M. There is, come to think of it, a kind of Judi Dench
quality to McCain."

Madsen On Psychiatric Hold - Reports
22 October 2008 7:03 AM, PDT
Publicists for actor Michael Madsen are refusing to comment about reports the
Reservoir Dogs star has been detained by authorities over fears for his mental

home on Monday by sheriff's deputies after "a family member in the house

The site claims he is being held on involuntary psychiatric hold, administered
to patients who are deemed a danger to themselves or others.
When approached by WENN to confirm the reports, Madsen's publicist Liza Anderson
replied with "no comment".
Involuntary psychiatric hold - also known in the U.S. as a 5150 hold - is
the same treatment administered to Britney Spears after her meltdown in January

He says, "As far as the next film's concerned, there is nothing scheduled.
"Economically the world is in quite a lot of trouble so who knows if
we can afford to do another Bond movie anytime soon?

Actress Glenn Close keeps a museum full of costumes collected from her decades-long

The legendary star began her collection after her first movie, 1982 film The

But Close's hoarding ways soon became a habit she's been unable to kick.
She says, "I have all my costumes. I have an unbelievable costume collection...
they represent some of the most phenomenal feats of design and execution you
could ever see. I get very attached to my costumes because you spend a lot
of time in the fitting room.
"For me it's a very important part of creating the character in those
fittings, because in film you don't have a lot of rehearsal. By the time you're
in your full drag, a lot of that has been collaborated with the make-up artist
and hair stylist and the costume designer, so they mean a lot to me."

boyfriend Jamie Hince.
The couple have enjoyed an on-off relationship, breaking up last month but

A source tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "Kate loves the Caribbean
and has been investigating owning a home in Puerto Rico. Now she's putting
her plan into action.
"She wants somewhere very private and reckons she and Jamie could find

Trump's Pageant Winner Stripped Of Title
22 October 2008 12:14 AM, PDT
Latest: Donald Trump's Miss Universe Organisation has taken a further blow
- the teen pageant winner arrested for theft and drug possession has been stripped
of her title by event officials.
Lindsey Evans - the third runner-up at this year's Miss Teen USA - was taken
into custody with three friends after allegedly leaving a $46.07 (GBP27.15)
bill unpaid at a Louisiana restaurant.
The 18-year-old, the reigning Miss Teen Louisiana, faced additional charges
of marijuana possession after officers found the drug while searching her purse,
according to police spokesman Mark Natale.
And the teenager has been stripped of her title as a result - just ten days
before her reign was due to end, according to website TMZ.com.
A statement from Paula Miles, the president of Rpm who sponsor the pageant,
says, "Lindsey Evans has been part of an organisation that believes in
opportunities when earned and consequences when warranted. Due to recent circumstances,
Lindsey has been relieved of her duties as Miss Louisiana Teen USA 2008 effective
immediately."
The incident follows a string of photo and drug scandals surrounding the organisation's
Miss USA pageant contestants in 2006 and 2007.

Bollea 'Changed' After Prison Spell
22 October 2008 12:14 AM, PDT
Hulk Hogan's son Nick is a "changed person" since his stint in jail,
according to his mother Linda Bollea.
Nick Bollea was released early from prison on Tuesday having served 166 days
of an eight month prison sentence.
He was serving time for his part in a car crash in August last year that left
his best friend John Graziano with permanent brain injuries.
And his mother Linda is convinced that her son is a reformed character.
She tells E! online, "He's a changed person. He went into prison as a
juvenile and you know he's experienced something that is gonna mould and change
him for the rest of his life, for his adult life. He wants to make a positive
difference in this world."
Nick was greeted with a "Welcome Home" sign and yellow balloons
outside his house and Linda admits: "I cried when I hugged him."
She adds, "He's had six months in jail and he's just gotta try to regroup
and remould his life... In the future I think his actions will speak louder
than words.
"I think when people just watch, (they'll see) he's a changed person.
(He's changed) For the better. You know he really just wants to try to be serious
and make a difference, wants to look into colleges and just be a kid..

Busey Snorted Cocaine Off His Dog
22 October 2008 12:14 AM, PDT
Actor Gary Busey hit a low in his drug addiction days when he found himself
snorting cocaine off his dog.
The Big Wednesday star, who claims he has been sober for 13 years, couldn't
help himself when his pet pooch rolled in a supply of the drug.
He tells U.S. news show Access Hollywood, "I went in like a cropduster
with my nose flying first and snorted the cocaine off the dog."
But he got more than he bargained for: "You get a little bugs, you get
little hairs, you get grease and goo from the ground; it's not at all a healthy
thing to do. But when you're an addict, you don't think of health, you think
about destruction of yourself unconsciously."

Ritchie Wants Traditional Christmas Celebrations
22 October 2008 12:14 AM, PDT
Guy Ritchie is determined to celebrate this Christmas with his children - something
he has been unable to do before because of wife Madonna's strict religious
views, according to reports.
The couple announced last week that they are to divorce following seven years
of marriage,
The Holiday hitmaker is a devout follower of Kabbalah, whose followers do
not celebrate the festivities - and Ritchie has previously championed the family's
decision to boycott the holiday, declaring last year: .And ever since (we)
stopped the presents, we're actually enjoying it..
But the director is now reportedly determined to treat Madonna's daughter
Lourdes, 12 , their biological son Rocco, eight, and adopted tot David Banda,
three, to a traditional celebration on Christmas Day.
A source tells Britain's Daily Mirror, .Christmas doesn't exist in the Madonna
household because of Kabbalah. Guy will be really looking forward to introducing
the kids to Christmas for the first time. He always liked Christmas but went
along with it as it was what Madonna wanted and he did want to stay true to
Kabbalah.
"But as time has gone on, he thinks the kids are missing out and he.s
determined that things change..
And the holiday was particularly unconventional for the Ritchie household
in 2004, when a famous face popped around for a fish dinner.
The source adds, .Instead of family visiting them, the artist Tracey Emin
came and they all ate steamed fish. It was dour and joyless to say the least.
.Guy has taken a lot from Kabbalah and any talk of him being against it now
is rubbish. But he.s also very much a British traditionalist and he would love
to pass on some of the flavour of a traditional Christmas to his kids..

to hospital in California.

Hope was discharged later that day.
It comes just a day after an auction of Hope's belongings from the couple's

Dolores Hope Foundation.

Australian Network Pulls U.S. Kath + Kim
21 October 2008 6:31 PM, PDT
The American version of hit Aussie TV comedy Kath + Kim has failed to impress
Antipodean viewers - it has been dropped from schedules after just two episodes.
Actress Selma Blair and U.S. funnywoman Molly Shannon play the role of the
dysfunctional mother and daughter duo in the American adaptation of the award-winning
series.
But Australia's Channel 7 has pulled the show from its primetime slot after
the second episode viewing figures plummeted to 729,000 after a promising 1.23
million debut.
The network has put the show into "resting" - meaning it will be
held until the Australian summer (Nov-Jan08), when Aussie TV returns to its
non-ratings period.
And as a further blow, the original Kath + Kim will replace its American counterpart.
A spokesperson for Channel 7 says, "The figures didn't stand up for its
second outing. For people who want to see more of the U.S. episodes they will
return later this year."

Gervais Hints At Extras Return
21 October 2008 6:31 PM, PDT
British funnyman Ricky Gervais has hinted he may make more episodes of his
hit TV series Extras - because he misses the show so much.
The Office star made two series of the popular BBC comedy show, which featured
A-list cameos from Kate Winslet, David Bowie and Orlando Bloom.
And Gervais has fond memories of the show - insisting the series' pivotal
characters were the best he's ever created.
He tells Britain's Zoo magazine, "Yes - I miss Extras more than The Office.
The Office had to finish when it did, but I think Extras could still go on
and on.
"We created better characters in Extras. Andy Millman was more real than
David Brent by the end of the show and I loved Maggie Jacobs - she was the
best character we've come up with."

Hathaway Swoons For Hollywood Mystery Man
21 October 2008 6:31 PM, PDT
Newly single Anne Hathaway is looking for love following her dramatic split
from jailed ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri - and she has her eye on a Hollywood-based
mystery man.
The actress split from Follieri in June, just two weeks before he was arrested
for wire fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and money laundering.
She has been single since then, but insists she's now ready to date - and
has one man in mind.
The 25-year-old tells People.com, "This guy I know in Los Angeles is
kind of doing it for me right now. When I think of sexy, I think of him.
"You know when sometimes you don't know someone very well - you'll probably
never see them again - but you just meet them and you're like 'Wow, you really
have it going on'?"
Things aren't so great for Follieri, who is due to be sentenced on Thursday
after pleading guilty to fraud charges. Prosecutors on Monday urged the judge
not to show leniency towards him.

Chenoweth Is Walking Wounded
21 October 2008 6:31 PM, PDT
Kristin Chenoweth is walking around with a dislocated rib after an on-set
accident.
The West Wing star had just recovered from the broken ribs she suffered when
she fell down the stairs earlier this year when she slipped during a stunt
on the set of a new project.
Chenoweth, 40, says, "I fell down the stairs and broke my ribs. I taped
myself up and carried on working. Then, last week (begs13Oct08), we were doing
a stunt, hanging upside down and it jabbed by rib up into my shoulder. It's
now sticking out."
But instead of heading to hospital to have herself patched up, the star insists
on self-medicating. She adds, "I have a bad neck also. I have this traction
thing for my neck. I put my head in it and pump it up and it takes the pressure
off. Maybe I can get one for my back."

Shatner Blasts Takei Over Wedding Snub
21 October 2008 6:31 PM, PDT
William Shatner has taken his war of words with former Star Trek castmate George
Takei into cyberspace, by insisting the newlywed is "sad" and "sick" for
not inviting Captain Kirk to his recent same-sex marriage ceremony.
Takei, who blasted Shatner for his vanity on the set of the cult sci-fi series
in his memoirs, made a point of not inviting the actor to his nuptials when
he exchanged vows with partner Brad Altman at the Democracy Forum of the Japanese
American National Museum in Los Angeles on 14 September.
And the Boston Legal star is still bitter about the snub.
In a new video, posted on website YouTube.com, Shatner says, "The whole
thing makes me feel badly. The poor man, there's such a sickness there. It's
so patently obvious that there's a psychosis there.
"I don't know what his original thing about me was; I have no idea. I
didn't read his book that was printed many years ago but apparently I didn't
let somebody have a close -up."
But Shatner insists there must be more to it than that: "I literally
don't know him. I didn't know him very well on the series; he'd come in for
a day or two... but he's continued to speak badly about me for all these years.
"You'd think there would be an epiphany at some point where George might
have said, 'Poor Bill Shatner, he is such a lonely, desperate, unhappy man
that he did all these terrible things to me...' when I said hello or something...
but instead what he does is he makes this big deal about not inviting me to
his wedding.
"There must be something else inside George that is festering, and makes
him so unhappy that he takes it out on me, in effect a total stranger.
"It's sad the man can't find enough peace in his life to either be positive
and say 'I forgive him for whatever those hurts were,' or to shut up about
it... I feel nothing but pity for him."
And Shatner urges his former castmate to reconsider his bitterness towards
him: "He and I don't have many years left on this world."
